I have to replace a failed stop tap under sink with usual array of tees etc.I would like to use Push-fit for safety reasons but I think the copper may be imperial and I know that there may be compatibility issues. I understand thar 3/4 tube requires a special olive for compression and cannot...

    Fittings failure

Having browsed various posts I am surprised to learn fittings seem to fail quite frequently.I can understand why plastic fittings are vulnerable but surprised to discover compression joints can fail (assuming that a good olive has been used).Am I just being a bit pessimistic?

    Torbeck INSTRUCTIONS

Thanks Bahco it works fine.I have set the float so it fills adequately but I could do with lengthening the vertical arm.I think the merchants must have had people fitting them wrong and has overegged the reading bit.I just feel that I may have missed something crucial. Quite a good solution...

    Torbeck INSTRUCTIONS

I have fitted in haste a new Torbeck as I was faced with a tiny cistern which could not accommodate a Delchem float valve. The bloke in the merchants said to read instructions but I was confused and could not grasp how to adjust the telescopic arms so I managed to get a reasonable fill...

    Temperature Control-CENTRAL HEATING

IT is a genuine Bosch part-no.386 227(GC) and is a harness potetiometer.I also bought a spare thermistor(379 785) at the same time. These spares could be scarce and a relative has the same model so it may come in handy. We do not have controls and have low gas consumption. We all wear jumpers...

    Temperature Control-CENTRAL HEATING

Our Worcester 280 RSF has a temperature control knob which used to click and activate the heating.I do not seem to be able to control the heating as before.I have read the fault-finder and I suspect I need a new potentiometer.I have bought one in readiness. It has a spindle one end and has three...

    Blocked Toilet

I think you will make the situation worse if you continue to use the plunger. This will probably compact the blockage. You say that you have a leak at the junction.Do you mean it is leaking from the pan connector? You may have a very unpleasant job.The blockage could be at the U bend in your...
