HELP no HEATING -WORCESTER 280-new diverter valve problem

Thanks for your reply Agile. The fitter changed the complete unit and advised me that some people simply replace the top part only causing the manifold to corrode over the long term.I did feel that the new diverter valve did not operate at first and seemed stuck.I did try to manipulateit manually...

I am afraid that the pressure gauge reads over 2 bar-thats assuming its accurate.I suppose I could raise the pressure further without doing any harm.

HELP no HEATING -WORCESTER 280-new diverter valve problem

After four days without central heating we thought we had solved the problem.Prior to repair we had hot water but no heating. When heating was demanded the boiler fired for 20-30 seconds before shutting off.I suspected this was a diverter valve fault.I had this replaced and also had a new fan...

    worcester 240 combi RSF Boiler

I think your diagnosis is correct.I have bought a valve recently at about £90 plus Vat.I cannot comment on the cost of replacing the valve but my corgi friend replaced one in an hour-it was delayed by some corrosion on the circlips even though they are meant to be stainless. I too have had this...

    Pedestal gas restrictor/isolation valve(8mm)

I was informed by the fitter that it was illegal to have a gas fire in a room where someone slept. The room is now reverted to a lounge and so the fire may be used again safely. Was I misinformed?

    Pedestal gas restrictor/isolation valve(8mm)

The living room had been used for sleeping purposes and the gas fitter capped off the gas fire temporarily using the pedestal valve. Is it safe to open up the valve using a screwdriver as one would do with a service valve on the cold feed?

    Worcester280 RSF-new heat stat needed?

I have a worcester 280 RSFand the small red button(overheat thermstat button) keeps popping up .this seems to happen most winters and then the problem resolves itself.I presume it overheating or the stat is too sensitive and needs to be replaced. The boiler is nearly 14 years old but has been a...

    Own Brand embossed wallpaper

I mean the branded Anaglypta rather than a generic. The BQ stuff I saw was £2:99 a roll and was a suitably understated pattern, and as always I am operating on a budget. It will not get a deal of abrasion and will be used in a bathroom with rough walls.

    Own Brand embossed wallpaper

I saw some rolls of embossed which can be painted in B&Q.I have always used Anaglypta but it is £2 a roll dearer. The B&q stuff looks acceptable-will it do the job as well.It will be used in a bathroom with poor walls which have been lined with 1000 grade paper.Any advice will be most welcome thanks
