Is it ok to fix ply/OSB boards on top of the Asbestos sheeting? How would you get a fixing? Into the joists is the only way to get a decent fixing surely? Cheers Tony.

If your thinking about re-doing your flat roof with Bitumen......FORGET IT! I'd look at getting it done in the EPDM Rubber. Will last alot longer. IMO!!

Is a Zinc roof fitted without any joins? Can it be done in one sheet/piece?

Well I've read that thousands of square metres of Firestone EPDM has been installed in the USA, Over 40 years ago.....Hot and Freezing cold areas with no come backs ever? It's also been fitted onto flat roofs in very warm countries like Dubai, etc If copper is that good why is'nt everybody...

Most will do the same thing to be honest OP. It all depends on how long your going to keep your roof open to the elements........Most mentioned are much a much the same other than cost.

On a 10+ sq mt roof cost would be a problem? Whats the best material for extensions, Dormas, Porches? EPDM all the way for cost?

Dunno about the way you need to slate or drill holes but..... Regarding the lead valley, I'd just rip all of the old valley out and replace it with the GRP (or replace with lead?), That may mean interfearing with the tiles next door..IE removing the valley tiles from next door then re-tiling...

so cost wise and life wise epdm is the best? Ive spoken to a few builder/roofing mates and they are putting the EPDM on all the new builds/extensions/dormas.
