If it's a solid fuel B/B like a glass fronted Parkray then you will be fine with Vermiculite.

A bent m/kwik pan connector and then a flexi or offset should do the trick. Or you could bring the pan and cistern off the wall using batons etc.

Two screws on front boiler casing,2 screws on control panel,2 forks on pipes,2 bolts holding actuator to diverter valve and 8 screws holding actuator together........just done one that took 20 mins + £6 for diaphragm + £594 labour :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I wish

I am still confused but why don't you turn off the stop tap,drain tank and either fit new tank connector or tighten the leaking one ?

I have FOUR outside taps and none of my pipe is lagged :shock: I just turn off the internal stop tap in the cold weather and open the taps :wink: Mind you i am not in the cold Nooooorth :)
