Did you shut the valves under the boiler when removing the rad, if so did you open them both?

It will be the Danfoss remote TRV head. The newer ones wire is about 0.5mm thick and the older ones were thicker. Probably redundant as it would fix onto the dedicated valve with an 2mm allan screw. If you find the other end it has a little bellows to push the pin shut on valve.

Hi Dave, I take it is a brown/cream colour programmer as in the old tempus 7? I think if you push a pair of buttons together it could reset but I cannot remember which ones. Say like prog and time button or up and down buttons. I am sure one combination should reset it. You would belive it...

You can take bath out and get it stripped, re enamel and glazed but would probably easier to fit a new one as you would have the old one out anyway. Probably cheaper too for new one.

There should be a reset on it, either a small hole with a button under or press a pair of buttons together. Would help if we know what programmer it is.

I have one this week same issues, you can get additives but whether they work I am not sure. Newish Toby valve fitted a couple of years ago, flow rates ok, pot clean so must be oil.

Glowworm another option with very long warranties. Prefer them over the Worcester any day and nearly all the new ones have SS heat exchangers.

Outlet of tank blocked, oil filter blocked, crap in the oil pipe, oil pipe damaged. Run out of oil and pull crud in when resetting the burner. All plausable and worth a check. Oh and the tiger loop has failed is another one.
