No problem, learnt through practice and following the manual.
Times have changed - when I got my first car in 1980 (age 16) it was normal to buy the car you could afford outright, and had to maintain it.
Nowadays,in our credit-centred world,it is normal to buy the car you can afford the...
Automatic adjusters are normally two small ratchets, one of which is spring-loaded.
To slacken, lift the tension spring with a screwdriver and ease the ratchet back.
Shoes generally held on by springs and retaining clips - easiest way of removing them is with a pair of pliers, grip, press down and turn 90 degrees (but they do sometimes spring off)
Then shoes are either side of an adjuster at one end,and either side of the brake cylinder at the other - you...
Normal set-up is pads at front, shoes at rear (front discs, rear drums)
High-performance models tend to have discs all round (vented at the front) so it depends on the model.
If you are following the manual, and doing it for the first time, probaly take you an hour.
Removal takes longer than replacement, the second one will be quicker than the first (because you will know how it's done by then :D )
Is the Mondeo sliding calipers ? If so,only problem usually is the...
4" by 3" is rather hefty timber - will be very heavy!
I would go for screws, rather than coachbolts (easier and cheaper)
And if you are putting a diagonal strut in,make sure the bottom end is at the inside (hinge) edge, otherwise your gate might droop :(
Believe you need a "Licensed asbestos disposal contractor"
They have a national organization,so probably have a website.
(There's a van parks up my street from Tyne Tees Demolition, who belong to the association, which is how I've heard of it)
Also (and probably most importantly) what is above the ground floor ?
i.e. if the chimney breast carries on,it needs doing properly (consult a builder) or the whole lot could come down... :(
Could always use real wood :D
Otherwise, furniture board (beech effect chipboard) or you could use mdf, and laminate or veneer it to get a nicer surface.
Yes,it would be OK
I was taught how to put posts in using the traditional method (for hanging farm gates)
Cut turf off,and place to one side.
Dig a hole slightly larger than the size of the post.
Dig the hole deep enough to have half of the above-ground height below ground (i.e. 4' above...
Don't assume the alternator is giving up.
By the sound of your voltage readings, the charging system is working ok.
More likely that the wire to the light is earthing out somewhere - i.e. insulation rubbed through and touching metal.
When in the Police,I did someone for drink-driving.
It was about 11 at night, and he had just left a local club.
He was 2 1/2 times over the limit (92 mg,compared to limit of 35)
and had only drunk two pints all evening.
But was completely blatted the night before and hadn't eaten.
THAT...
Hi chaps -like Thermo, used to be in the Police (boo..hiss)
Thermo's advice is all sound - get your own solicitor is a must.
If I remember correctly, magistrates are limited to the fine they can give you (£1500?) and sentence they can pass (6 months?)
Believe second offence is automatic 3-year...
Not familiar with the LDV axle, but some have a level plug only, some (generally older) vehicles may have a drain plug as well.
Expect it to be towards the centre line of the axle - often with a recessed square socket (frequently same size as socket set wrenches)
And just to add to the sound...
Unfortunately,could be anywhere.
Could be lightswitch,as suggested.
Could also be instrument panel, light unit(s),dashboard...get the idea.
It's at the level where it may be a job for an auto electrician
First question - is it to be outside or inside ?
Presume it will be outside,so will need to be weatherproof - exterior grade plywood, felt roof, tanalised timber for framework.
And as for plans - last one I made, went up to local pet shop and had a look at their range - find a style you...
