Vaillant Turbomax plus 824e DHW problem.

Update. The boiler started working again, although intermittently. The engineer changed the impeller and all seems to be ok now. It occurred to me that a few days before the fault occurred there had been a burst water main in the area and water had been turned off for a few hours. Maybe sludge...

Vaillant Turbomax plus 824e DHW problem.

Engineer arrived today. My previous engineer has recently retired and he recommended this guy to continue servicing my system. Basically he opened the boiler front panel, asked me to turn on the hot water and observed that the boiler wasnt firing up. Then without any diagnostic testing he...

Vaillant Turbomax plus 824e DHW problem.

Yes it does fire up in warm start mode which gives us a small amount of warm water so the gas valve ignition side of things seems to be ok.

No, it stays at 0 when taps turned on.

Need New Printer - Which Brands Have Well Priced Ink?

Over the years I've gone through just about every brand of inkjet printer. Ink price is a rip off and after not very much use they dry up and end up in the skip. Then I decided to buy a laser printer, cost about £190. Had it about three years now, prints perfectly every time. Yes the replacement...

Vaillant Turbomax plus 824e DHW problem.

Sorry haven't had chance to check this and expecting the engineer this morning UPDATE: Engineer didnt turn up! Checked voltages again and there is 4.6v on the red. Turn the tap on and green rises to around 2.5v which I assume indictates impeller is rotating. But the boiler still does not...

Vaillant Turbomax plus 824e DHW problem.

Boiler is a Vaillant Turbomax plus 824e. Problem is no domestic hot water. CH works fine. When hot water tap is opened, no led or status indication on boiler, so not detecting request for hot water. Initial thoughts were a problem with the Aquasensor. Struggling to get an engineer out today...

    Faulty Hikvision camera?

I decided to reformat the drive, and at the moment the fault seems to have cleared up, so unable to grab any images at the moment.

    Fitting external expansion vessel.

Just to close this off, external expansion vessel fitted today, managed to tee into return pipe. Pressure is now staying within normal levels between 1 and 1.5 bar. It was a hell of a job fitting the compression fittings to the old lead pipe. (Dont panic, I'm only kidding!)

    Garage conversion and gas meter

Yes I had building regs approval. But to be honest, although the inspector visited a few times, he seemed to show very little interest. The main thing he was concerned about was fire exits from the converted garage. You need to be able to exit the new room without passing through any other room...

    Faulty Hikvision camera?

The fault seems to be intermittent and it's ok at the moment. If it comes back I'll get some screen shots.

    Faulty Hikvision camera?

Have had a Hikvision cctv system installed for about four years. Just recently one of the cameras, after switching to black and white infra red night vision, seems to go into a sort of ghosting image. However it is ok on daytime colour image. I powered down and rebooted the complete system and...

    Fitting external expansion vessel.

    1. Health and safety! Also to prevent the boiler inadvertently trying to fire up with no water in it! 2. To prevent the entire system draining down! After repressurising the vessel held pressure for a short time then when the Schrader valve was pressed water spurted out. A sure sign that the...

    Garage conversion and gas meter

I had a similar situation with my garage. I had to have the Inernal gas pipe lowered as it crossed the new doorway into the garage. Otherwise I just boxed everything in. Building inspector had no issues with this. The only minor drawback is that the meter reader has to walk through the lounge...

    Fitting external expansion vessel.

Do you mean like I did this morning? You're bound to ask, so here goes Isolate mains supply Isolate flow and return Drain boiler Leave drain open Pressurise EV to 0.7 bar. Close drains Open flow and return Repressurise system to 1bar. Did I miss anything?

    Fitting external expansion vessel.

Continually losing pressure. Water from the air valve when depressed. Boiler serviced annually over last 15 years. Vaillant manual recommends 3 yearly check on air pressure. I think 18 years is good going for a rubber membrane!

    Fitting external expansion vessel.

I have a Vaillant Turbomax about 18 years old and it looks like the expansion vessel has failed. As the vessel is located at the back of the boiler thus making it a difficult and expensive job to replace, I'm considering fitting an external expansion vessel. I understand that this should be...
