    cistern tank water not heating

Turn the boiler off now!!!! black soot is a danger sign of very inefficient combustion (burning of gas). It means there is a high risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and death!!!!!! call out a gas safe registered person and tell them what is happening with your boiler, BUT TURN IT OFF FIRST.!!!!!

Boiler firing up causes tap to drip!

I think you have a flow pipe from the boiler in close proximity to the hot water pipe to the tap. When the boiler starts to heat the cylinder with hot water the other pipe with cool water in it starts to warm up and the water in the hot water pipe expands enough to push past the washer/ceramic...

    Ravenheat RSF82E hot water problem

Try changing the domestic hot water potentiometer GC no E23-714 If that doesn't work you may need to get someone to power flush with a cleaner the heat exchanger, Or else you need a new heat exchanger But try the Potentiometer first, its cheapest.

Isolating Power showers - stopcock query

Gate valves are notorious for not closing properly, they are best used for controlling the flow rather than opening or shutting. You can get a tapered rubber bung, sold in pairs. Inside the tank where the fitting for the pipe outlet is, push the tapered bung into the hole and that will shut the...

    worcester 24i dhw fluctuating

As long as the flow rate is more than 3 litres/min I think your problem is sludge in the secondary heat exchanger, That is the small heat exchanger used to heat the hot water.

baxi neta tec combi prv outlet pipe

You can run it anywhere as long as it terminates where it is visible if it spills water; but it must run down hill all the time since it need gravity to empty from the boiler to make sure there are no leaks in the connection. It is a warning pipe like any overflow pipe.

Central heating will not come on automatically

The motor in the box has died, you can replace just the motor and save money or if the box has 2 screws holding onto the brass body you can replace the whole metal box. (Honeywell). Its a three port valve.

BAXI BERMUDA 552 BACK BOILER BUBBLING NOISE WHEN TURNED OFF.

I think you will find its air that you can hear. It is not being allowed to escape into the vent pipe and then over the tank. maybe you have a blockage in the vent pipe higher up. Get the vent checked and see if it helps.

    Programmer or valve not working?

You do not have a baxi combi it is something else, I think you have a fault with your motorised valve wiring, since by default the at rest position with the motor is hot water. This means including programmer wiring problem.

Having to keep bleeding air from combi system

Inside the boiler or sometimes on top of it there is always an automatic air vent commonly known as an AAV, It is usually on the pump assy and it has a plastic cap on it, When fitted the plastic cap has to be undone half a turn. Check that that has been done. If the cap (looks like a tyre valve...

Glow worm 24ci flexi exp tube & expansion vessel

Yes I think you should leave it to someone who knows what there are doing like gas safe engineer. I could give you detailed explanation as could many others but you need to show a better level of understanding first. Sorry but I think that is the best answer for you.

Removing old pedestal sink- well siliconed in

If you can use a form of grinding wheel, sharpen a hacksaw blade by removing the teeth and making that edge knife like. And use washing up liquid to keep it lubricated. Grip the blade with a cloth wrapped round it. Or wear gardening gloves.

    potterton trying to start up?

1st I agree with bolshy 2nd if its replaced the only back boiler that I know of (unless things have changed) that is condensing is a baxi so that is the one you would have to have. i would consider it repairable unless the heat exchanger is leaking. Find a different GSE he may be better at...

Glowworm 30FF Ultimate constant buzzing, PCB at fault?

You know as well as I do that all boilers have electronics. Intergas don't have divertor valves or secondary heat exchangers (yes I know there are others without secondary heat exchangers) and so the electronics don't have top do so much work and there is less to go wrong, not nothing to go wrong.

    Combi Low Flow Rate

If flow is less than 10litrs/min I think it is, then the water board have to be told and they check it in case there is a leak underground affecting flow rates.

    Combi Low Flow Rate

Your boiler can deliver 13 litrs/min with a temp rise of 35degC in other words if the incoming water temp is 8-10degC then at 13litrs/min it should be 43-45degsC it doesn't matter what the pressure is that should come out of the tap at that rate and that temp. You cannot talk about flow with a...

Glowworm 30FF Ultimate constant buzzing, PCB at fault?

Yes it looks like a weakness with that boiler, the PCB. Look into getting an Intergas boiler, they seem to be more reliable or rather less to go wrong than many of the condensing boilers, I went on a course with them and they look easy to maintain as well.

Help mains stop tap leaking from bottom compression joint

I have never known the water board fail to find or fit an OSV(outside stop valve) They are obliged to fit or find one because they will only take responsibility for water services up to the OSV. If they cant find it then you can tell that since there is not one outside then the are responsible...

    Combimate Advice

The magnaclene does catch most sludge but hard , baked particles can get past, the new ones now have a non magnetic filter included in the same container and these new filters can be purchased separately and you just slide the old one off and slide the new plastic filter over the magnetic, nice...
