Gravity fed system for loft conversion - advice please

Just remember that any sealed system (megaflow type) needs to be installed by a plumber who is qualified in unvented systems, make sure you check his credentials, he spent time and effort and money getting them and will be pleased to show them to you. By the way Megaflow is one of the makes...

    Vailant ecotech pro

At the very least, any condensing boiler should have the condensate trap emptied and cleaned every year, and the combustion exhaust tested. Your boiler has failed its manufacturers warranty by not being given a service history.

Sealed CH System - apparent airlocks in boiler

Just remember to think about the way the water flows through the boiler, and then make sure that the water that is pushing the sludge is going in the opposite direction to it natural flow so the sludge is sent back into the system and can the be drained out.

Sealed CH System - apparent airlocks in boiler

You are getting a build up of air because you have an automatic air vent for the hot water but you need one for the heating circuit since that is not using the hot water AAV.That is why the air builds up.

    Baxi cutting out

The reset is usually activated by the overheat stat or repeated failed ignition, so it may be worth replacing the overheat stat anyway since they don't need a drain of boiler at all and only cost about £15-£20

I will know more about them when I see them at the moment I can only go by what I am told. As far as I know the only people who have a baxi are tenants, because landlords won't pay for a decent boiler, It may be the pump is not running at full speed, but don't throw any more money at it get rid of it. I am almost completely disillusioned by the unreliability of modern boilers and as...

Your filling loop that you use to fill it with water should have 2 taps (isolating vales) on it they should both be opened to fill it then closed to stop filling it. The valve nearest the boiler has a non return valve on it so if both valves are closed and the filling loop is removed completely...

    Thermal Store advice

I always used to recommend Vaillant, but since the days of condensing I am not so sure anymore, I would now be more inclined towards intergas since they have a good rep for not failing, I am going an a 1 day course with them next month which will give any of their boilers i install a 5 year...

Help please - air in bath and shower hot water

Try and leave pump running as long as pump strainers are clear and hot and cold water work elsewhere, a hose may clear the air lock, as soon as it clears the pump will take over and you will know. So be ready.
