Space saving alternative to turnbuckle for cable

Can you put any eye on the joist, take the wire 90deg through this eye, and then have the turnbuckle under the joist. Or rather than 90deg, double back the wire (180deg) and put the turnbuckle on the doublebacked length.

    Electric help please!

The fuse is there to protect the wire - in the case of a problem it hopefully blows before the wire is damaged. The fuse value makes no difference to the normal operation of the hob. The gas hob will work with a 13A or a 5A fuse in the plug. However, In the case of a electrical short in the...

    Electric help please!

It is a gas hob, hence it is low current and does not need to be hard wired. You can put any UK plug onto that cable, and then plug it into a normal socket. The heavy duty plug you have shown will be completely usable (they are most often used on places where a plug might suffer impact damage)...

    Small LED Ceiling Light

That one has 4 (internal) contact points for the wires (L, N, Loop, E) But you are correct it is only three external connections (L, N, E) - which is the same as your image. https://www.greenbrook.co.uk/lcgn3pls There is a 4 pole version that is bigger.

Have you backed up your files, either onto an external harddrive or online, or better both? If not, do it now whilst it is still working and before you touch anything.

    Unusal request probably.

Look up wireless caregiver alarm for lots of solutions, normally based on a re-badged noisy doorbell. But as you requested a 'illuminated light' how about this likely over cheap Chinese item. But I am not sure the light latches on until reset. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141922972343? So other...

Gas cost to heat a room

My made up and possibly impossible to follow maths says use Gas in the day If Gas cost 5.87p per KWH Electricity costs 25.96p per KWH Then electric is 4x more expensive than gas. As 1 rad 4 of 11 radiators will be on then you will be heating 3 radiators. Then electric cost is a bit cheaper than...

Confused about how to do this

CPC is Good supplier of electrical supplies in my opinion. Here are their 24V DC led power supplies https://cpc.farnell.com/c/electrical-lighting/batteries-power-supplies/power-supplies/led-power-supplies/led-power-supply-24v And I had a very quick look and this should be suitable for your...

Emergency power cut light, and multi use batteries?

I have previously added a short cable and plug to 3W emergency lights. The wire was short so it could be hung from a socket, lying flat on the wall, so it illuminates stairs if power goes out. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=emergency+light&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4439441.m570.l1313...

    Understanding Printer Issue

Just Saw that you have provided your printer number and when searching found there is a fuzer reset process - no idea what that means as there wasn't a reset option on mine - have you tried that option?

    Understanding Printer Issue

Only a auggestion, but for me it was the heater (or fuser) failing that meant that my fantastic printer went in the bin as the part was too expensive to replace. The fuser is an important part of the laser printing process, and it is essential for producing high-quality prints. If the fuser is...

    Stud wall first time

You seat idea might result in a very narrow seat once you have the insulation in there. I would keep the stud wall flat (hope that makes sense) infront of that ingress so the whole wall is flat. The ingress gap then filled with extra insulation. And then put in a large (deep) windowsill. That...

    Led strip for uplighting

I would replace the socket with a slimline blanking plate, undercoated and painted to match your wall. The (likely two pairs of cables) would be joined using wago or screw blocks. https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-2-gang-blanking-plate-polished-chrome/67316 More here...
