    sale of goods act.

Really it is down to what is reasonable and fair. The 12 month warranty that accompanies most items does not affect your legal rights. Some products are warrantied for up to 6 years but the liability from the supplier diminishes as time goes by. If you bought a frying pan for £2.50 and it...

You can pay public liability monthly if you need to cut down on initial start up costs. You should be paying about £300 per year, £6 per week. Take on work that only requires one person in the first instance. Once you have had a few jobs word of mouth will help you get more. You already...

    Workwear

Let Primark and Asda be your friend. Not exactly Jeeves and Hawkes I know but good enough, you can get clip on safety ties. Just as an aside many many moons ago I worked as a mini cab driver and we were a bunch of scruffy barsts to say the least so the owner (a mental irishwoman nicknamed...

Screw head sheared off in kitchen cupboard door

You will need to chip away enough material to get to the top of the screw with a pair of mole grips and then you can turn the remains of the screw out. Problem is that the inside of the door then looks like a rat has been chewing it also as doors are not very deep the next screw you put in may...

Is it worth buying a new drill

With the Hitachi you get 3 batteries (which if you equated them to the £100 cost would only make them £33 each) plus you get a new drill and a torch all in a carry case. Depends how good your Bosch drill is, if it is a bit ropey I would bin it and get a new set.
