    28mm overflow into garage!!

If it is a unvented cylinder and that pipe is a discharge pipe, the end must be sited outside as close to ground and cover with guard grille. That way, if there is something wrong with cylinder, the PRV or TRV will open, release water, sometime very hot and steam, it is discharging safety...

Vented central heating, air locks after drain down

Don't run the the hot water taps, that's a waste of water lol. Switch on hot water only, on the programmer. The pump will run and get the flow and return between boiler and cylinder going, this will usually clear up air lock in return pipe. Daniel.

Vented central heating, air locks after drain down

Give it time, it will clear up in time as the air will come out via the vent pipe or the radiators which you bleed later. A tip, after refilling heating, run the hot water only and the pump will clear up flow and return pipe between boiler and airing cupboard. Daniel.

    How to remove bathtub tap?

You may need a tap extender as the new tap's tail is shorter than old cross head taps. The left tap look like 15mm copper pipe and 22mm or 3/4inch imp copper pipe on right. Left tap look easy but right tap a pain to get due to copper overflow. Daniel.

    Invisable leak on heating

Op, as the heating pipework is iron, I wouldn't bother repairing it, as the heating is now sealed and higher, will cause some joints to leak or corroded pipes to pinhole leak. I would abandon it and run new copper pipework, drop from loft to each radiators. Ken, pump don't increase pressure...
