    Question about drooping bay window?

The downstairs window may be fine, but when it was fitted things dropped, and are now being packed to regain a level floor upstairs, which would explain the acro’s. I’d just speak to the builder to clarify

    Question about drooping bay window?

The upstairs is normally held up by concealed steel vertical posts within the downstairs bay window. Guess they may be packing/extending them to straighten things up. But the tiles seem to have moved a bit independently of that so may have some other issue. They’re hanging off horizontal battens...

    Question about drooping bay window?

I didn’t prop. They’re acro props. It was more about preventing any further movement. Guess yours may be taking a different approach, and jacking things back up if it’s dropped visibly, but if it’s dropped below ground (common), not sure what good propping it’s going to do unless they’re...

    Question about drooping bay window?

I did this for my brother a couple of years ago. You can see the restraint straps in the top pic.

    Collapsing porch

Although the more I look at it, I reckon someone’s fitted that bit of dpc (a course higher than the dpc already is) retrospectively and made a pigs ear of it :ROFLMAO:

    Collapsing porch

That’s got me thinking it could possibly have been someone mistaking accelerator for brake .. it’s a very short drive, only fits a fiesta size car without it being on the pavement. And may explain why the step seems to have self destructed so dramatically …

    Collapsing porch

Yeah, I’ll divert it elsewhere. Neighbours drive might suffer in any case if things get worse

    Collapsing porch

No idea, done long before he bought it It does look odd. The step is in a pretty bad shape along with that bit of wall :( I’m gonna point it up (even tho the lower courses are definitely dropping) can at least get an idea of how fast it’s moving or if it’s stopped

    Collapsing porch

Cheers. I had assumed this was a full on dig, prop and underpin job but if there’s a chance it’s not then that’s a big bonus ! I’ll have a better look when I go over and slate pack it and move the pipe picture doesn’t really show it, but the lower bricks are really pushing out / tipping which...

    Collapsing porch

That’s what I’m pretty sure it is. Reckon it’s proppable and repairable keeping most of it in situ? Looks like it’s a timber suspended floor, which I guess I could lift and see if it sheds more light before breaking up the tarmac…

    Collapsing porch

Theres nothing there, its all tarmac. can see what you mean though in the pic. You tend to see downpipes without gullies a lot. Don’t really need an aco, can just route it further away and will run off down drive. I suspect that downpipe alone isn’t responsible, but will do it to be safe.

    Collapsing porch

There is no gulley. I’ll divert that pipe elsewhere. Drive slopes down away from house towards street. The full brick in the centre of the pic can readily be lifted out :(

    Collapsing porch

Bit concerned by this at my lad’s place. I’ll get more photos from further back, but it’s a small porch added to the house at some point. Worst bit is in the photo, where the lower courses seem to be sinking, and separating from the upper bit which is presumably fairly well tied in to the house...

SVP at New Flat Roof Level

My answer assumed (a) there was a desire to have the downstairs open plan without a vertical soil pipe boxed in mid way through it and (b) remodelling the upstairs bathroom was out of scope

I’d use hydrated lime or plasticiser. Dont know what effect NHL would have.

SVP at New Flat Roof Level

Assume you can’t go 5 inches higher and clear it due to max eaves height allowed? The extra bend isn’t ideal and wouldn’t be accessible for rodding but there’ll be loads like this (and worse) out there. I’d go for a 45 degree on the lower bend rather than a 90.

How soon after laying were they walked on? Probably fine, and if any turn out to be loose they can be stuck back down with an SBR cement slurry if the bed was good

Can I Use Leftover Rockwool RWA45 Insulation for Cavity Wall Filling? Comparing with Knauf Dritherm Cavity Slab

I wouldnt use it. The full fill cavity slabs are designed not to wick moisture etc. Building control wouldn’t pass it.
