    is there 2 valves to turn, i cant remember of the top of my head on the ecotec? if so the valve on the mains side on the vaillant cuts off supply to boiler when opened for filling loop, you need to turn both ends off when filled (to 1 bar)

    i agree, with those size of rads i would have thought (heating only) you get away with a 18 kw boiler (60000 btu) and run the first half of gas main in 28mm dropping to 22 for the rest ( dependant on bends ect/apart from tees to fire/cooker)

    could it not be a defective micro switch on water section, or siezed water section? iv never known this prob to be caused by dirt in water !!
