I feel exactly the same. I watched my Grandmother die like this and it was horrible. She wasn't a burden to the state though or anyone else, she was well looked after by her family. The worst parts are when they get a lucid moment and realise that something horrible is happening to them...

scott1968, around here we use the word chav to describe someone involved in petty crime. To steal something is to 'chav' it! I guess different words have different meanings in different areas of the country. What would you describe a chav as?
