I dont think your dimmer switch will work properly with LED lights. Are your LED's dimmable or is it just standard lamps you have. The minimum of 40w is for Incandescent lighting, not LED's (i think).

It will be fine unclipped. If you are adding new cables into partition walls you may need RCD protection too.

Yes they will work fine with standard dry lining boxes. You will however need the grid that houses the switch.

I use a program called Sound Forge 9. I've never used a USB connected record deck, only a Jack plug through my sound card connected to "line in" so not sure if it will cure your problem. Sorry probably not much help
