Ply wood delaminated on warm deck roof

Hi all, I built a ground floor extension 3 years ago with a warm deck roof. It was 18mm OSB, vapour membrane lapped up at all sides of 100mm rigid insulation on top. Then 18mm ply and a 3 layer felt system. I did everything bar the felting. I whilst making a material list for a second storey...

Fire stick not working on Tv

I already took the 4K fire stick back after unpacking and repacking neatly. but…… on a plus side this fire stick plugs in directly to Tv and now works I’m sure the 4K one didn’t which is why I couldn’t do it. Different size maybe But at least it’s sorted!

Fire stick not working on Tv

The only other HDMI device I have is a mag254. The box appears but remote doesn’t move anything. I assumed the box was nackered but maybe a TV issue ‍♂️ Its an UHD 4K Samsung which is annoying cos I took a 4K fire stick back thinking it was due to the tv not being 4K. the stick works on my...

    Summer house base and timber

Surely a concrete block laying down ain’t no getting blown anywhere ‍♂️ Like Notch said, pointless having blocks the entire perimeter, and if I’m not doing that and the level isn’t massively an issue then surely it’s pointless bedding them down. The sole plate will be screwed down through the...

    Summer house base and timber

I think I’m thinking far too much about it. The slab isn’t massively un level. Can probably just space concrete blocks around the perimeter (not bedded, unless a levelling issue) maybe a couple through the centre. DPC between any block and timber, maybe doubled or tripled up to aid levelling...

    Summer house base and timber

I didn’t even think about adjustable pedestals.... I saw the plastic strong enough to take the load of the walls and roof ‍♂️ Have you done lots before?

    Summer house base and timber

I wanted to bring the cladding down to cover the blocks so it’s not unsightly. If I leave say 50mm at the bottom of the cladding and finish the breather membrane at the top of the blocks. Would that be ok? So really I only needs blocks on the sides the joists will sit on? And could just close...

    Summer house base and timber

Ok, I’m with you now. So you mean build a frame and then joist in between it, fix floor deck then build up off it ( or walls up first then deck) Floating floor and not fixed down. I’d have to have vents in the concrete blocks for this ? I was talking screw sole plates for walls to outside of...

    Summer house base and timber

What I mean is, will the air gap between breather membrane and cladding also provide adequate floor ventilation.... if I’m using 150mm joists, then the floor decking will be 100mm above the top of the sole plate and should ventilate out and down the cladding gap. If that makes sense

    Summer house base and timber

Yeah, we are getting mixed up a little. My fault. So The perimeter sole plate on outside of block, correct. With DPC between. I then thought the joists would rest on top of the sole plate, so they can be fixed Securely in to it to prevent movement. If they sat on the remaining 100mm of the...

    Summer house base and timber

DPC ...But the joists will rest on the sole plate? Not the block What ventilation will the floor need Would a screed floor on top of slab be better, membrane, insulation then 70mm screed ‍♂️ I don’t even want to do it but prices are mental in Essex .

    Summer house base and timber

Thanks for the reply. I’m going to 18mm board the outside, then membrane, batten, weatherbord so that’s all good. Regarding sole plate, I might be being thick. It will be flush with outside of blocks so everuthihbis flush outside , but are you saying put the joists on top of the sole plate, but...

    Summer house base and timber

Yeah I get it’s the better option. Would you put the floor joist on to the wall plate, or rest and fix it to the other half of the concrete block ( as will be laid on side) to achieve a lower floor?
