Does your existing toilet fit into a collar on the cast iron and then poss wrapped in denso tape ? You can either get a grinder and cut off the collar and use an ordinary pan connector or get an extension pan connector and leave the collar on. The first option is neater.

Yes you can extend the copper but get a good grip on the central nut shaped part of that leadloc before undoing the smaller compression nut. Can you shut the supply off before that point?

Could be the diaphragm in diverter valve. Bit of a pig as i remember but i haven't done one for about 10 years. Might be time to think about changing an old boiler rather than throw money at it ?
