Mine is end terrace (4 houses) so I have a 3 sided pitched roof. What I dont understand is the floor above sits on the outside wall across the whole of the back wall so why would the joist sit on two different thickness'es of wall. I cant understand why they went to the effort of building it...

its a party wall so I imagine that will pose problems?
