    TV - DVD player set-up

does the freeview box have just one scart? if it has 2, connect the dvd to the freeview through this, when you switch the dvd on, the freeview should switch to the dvd automatically. I had a similar situation on my last TV with the DVD and sky box, no idea why, changed leads/inputs and it...

Counterfeit and Illegal Plugs and Leads

IIRC, the sleeved earth is just one of the easy tell tales of a counterfeit lead. The other, and larger issues I have seen reported are. The plug top itself is too narrow, so you can touch live conductors whilst inserting the plug into the socket. The conductors on the leads of premade...

    Kitchen Extractor

IMO you do not need the extractor at all in the chimney, its designed to take stuff up it by natural means, not forced extraction. my parents had exactly what you describe (except no knocking in was required, it was a huge fireplace) and the natural extraction was plenty.

    sedona cutting out, throttle sensor??

nope, nothing. Have given it a service, and set of filters (not really due, but for £30 its worth a shot) Was thinking about chucking some fuel system cleaner in on the off chance.

    12V Portable battery

look on the right hand side of the pic, under the cover is a 230V sockets (via an invertor) and a 12V cig lighter type socket. most of these things seem to have a lighter socket on, for powering tyre inflaters etc. that one costs abit more than alot, presumably because of the invertor...

    sedona cutting out, throttle sensor??

I have an 03 sedona, and a couple of days ago it developed an annoying fault. if driving down the road, and you are just touching the throttle (ie to keep at the same speed, not speed up, or slow down) it keeps going as though its cutting out. A couple of times, coming up to a junction, it has...

I have 3 oil filleds, of varying sizes, and the dial is indeed a thermostat on all three, 2 of mine have 3 "heat" settings, equivalent to 800W, 1200W and 2K. after that its the thermostat. quote from 2 of the manuals, turn the dial to the maximum, when the room reaches desired temperature...

I know this is not a full on PC forum, but there a few people on here who know what they are talking about, and opinions I trust, so here goes... Its been a looong time since I built a pc from scratch (IIRC it was an AMD 500Mhz processor, and jumpers on the M/B to set speeds/voltages!!)...

    Candy CDW254 dishwasher draining issue

I have the above machine with a strange issue with draining. its an intermittent fault, it can be fine for ages, then refuse to drain for a week or so, then going back to fine again. The pump is running (ie trying to drain) but it isn't doing anything, bizzarly if you blow down the drain...

Scooter - Rear brake mechanism query

try moving the pivot by hand, if it moves freely, its the cable thats seized, WD40 it and get a replacement. if the pivot is seized (probably this, it gets sprayed with all sorts of crap) it will need the wheel off, and a strip and clean, most are a simple cam, so no linkages, its the "hole"...

Peugeot 406 "P" reg hand brake drums

from memory this seems to be about right. not sure why these seem to be such a problem in later life, possible because the handbrake isn't part of the normal braking system? so the linkages start to seize up a bit, mine needed a clean/free up every 2 years from 4 years old onwards.

    LOGIK LCX27WN2, AC ADAPTER ADP-150BB B fault

I'll be having a look online again later, but this TV seems to have a bit of a thirst, its a 12V 12.5A psu. most newer LCDs seem to run 24V PSUs (so less current req) bizzarly, the psu is a cased unit, but then goes into a compartment on the back of the TV.
