    Blocked heat exchange plate

That photo looks like it could be vermiculite or some other sort of mineral insulation product. Could it be part of the boiler or somewhere else in the system as insulation/heat shield and has somehow broken away and found its way into the system?

    Can I improve on this......

If those grey things are doors then of course no skirting. Fit the plinth wall to wall and get creative with that little end piece of skirting, mitre cut or round it off by sanding. There might be a sh*tty looking bit of plaster by the floor that will need tidying up with filler.

I can't believe we went so long before someone said it.

Replace old conservatory build over manhole

Is the conservatory separated from the house (by an exterior door) or open to it? Are you are replacing with another conservatory the same size? At the end of the day you already have a conservatory over a manhole, and to date no one has said anything about it. If it were me I'd be tempted...

    Base for garden room

What sort of garden room is it? Off the shelf or made up as you go? If it's from a manufacturer what do they specify for a base? Compacted MOT locks in tightly to itself, I don't think you will have any problems, but with adjustable feet you'll have a built-in solution if you do. Or just sit...

    Rockwool slabs for 4x2 CLS

You can concrete directly over the top of it if you have the right grade, but consider that it varies from 45kg to 140kg per cubic metre, you need to make sure you've got the right one for your spec. It's a shame that rockwool product names are so confusing, the marketing guys need to give...

    Barraby Bucknell 1960s TV.

I wonder how many original solid panel doors have been mistakenly binned for being ugly, after having the hardboard treatment?

    Rockwool slabs for 4x2 CLS

I've managed to compress 30mm RWA45 down to 25mm successfully, but I was using 15mm plasterboard.

    Base for garden room

If the concrete pad slab underneath is large enough, it will a) spread the load better over the not and b) allow for some lateral movement. Using adjustable legs and monitoring the levels, you'll be able to current for any slight movement. The main thing is to make sure it's well...

    Rockwool slabs for 4x2 CLS

At about 40kg each, I don't blame you. Gyproc plank is another good option, 19mm and easy to handle at 8x2

    Rockwool slabs for 4x2 CLS

It shouldn't make a difference really. Extra plasterboard will help though. 2 layers of standard PB will trump a single layer of the acoustic stuff.

    Rockwool slabs for 4x2 CLS

The rockwool should compress 11mm. If you get the very dense acoustic stuff then that hardly has any give in it, but RWA45 will be ok. The number refers to the weight per cubic metre, which indicates density.

    Compression fitting problem
