Tony, Tried as suggested, no luck I'm afraid, hot water still taking an age. Have even tried turning off my extra 2 upstairs radiators, still no difference.

Hi, I own an Ideal Vulcan traditional boiler. The boiler works fine when switched onto water only, takes around 1/2 an hour to gain a full tank of hot water. When the boiler is turned onto radiators & hot water, it's taking an absolute age to gain any hot water- around 3 hours...

It's an "Ideal Vulcan", thinks it's around 25 years old & that speaks for it's self. May be slightly more inefficient than some of these newer less reliable condensing boilers, but I'm sticking with it. Well until the day comes when I have to change it & if I could I'd replace it with another...

Slugbabydotcom, Thanks for that, the boiler stat is set around half way at the moment, but shall turn it down further. Yes your right about the noise, turn up the stat & kettling noise increases, who wants a cup of tea?

Billington, Thanks for the info, don't believe it, but after 3 days using the Fernox boiler silencer treatment, my boiler is now starting to run quieter. Don't know if it's some kind of boiler de-scaler? It's actually starting to work now. So I'll keep my fingers crossed...
