    hrm wallstar oil combi

An intermittent lock-out on a Wallstar can test the patience of even experienced oil boiler engineers. You've replaced the cell, transformer, oil pump, solenoid coil. There is no mention of a new nozzle? Have you checked condition of drive coupling? Does the cell have an unrestricted view of...

    hrm wallstar oil combi

Should be an EBI transformer which is standard van stock for any oil boiler engineer. Why don't you try calling a local OFTEC guy (doesn't have to be but a good start) and offering to buy one and if you really desparate you might want to throw in a "gesture of goodwill". Just make sure that...

wallstar boiler keeps locking out & getting air in the p

Looks like there's a massive static air pocket in the clear flexible oil line. Air must be getting into the oil line somewhere. Something that's has worked for me with Wallstars with an intermittent fault is to put an elbow in the oil line as it enters the boiler casing so that the NRV runs...

Grant External combi oil 21e not firing

The symptoms you describe indicate, as Oilhead says, a fuel supply problem. Make sure oil is getting to the oil pump, check filters, fire valve trip, blocked fuel line or water in oil. Is the motor rotating? If not check capacitor/motor or fuel pump for rotation I would check the above...

    KBB fire valve size

Usually get KBB in 1/4 BSP If you have a 10mm oil line (very likely) then just order fittings to suit pipe diameter, ie. 1/4 to 10mm. If valve is tripping then just replace but go for a 95c to prevent nuisance tripping. Also is there an underlying reason why the valve is tripping rather than...

Oil fired heating & hot water

Fair comment Simond but never had a problem with a Grant Vortex installation in 4 years. I don't specify Combis as I do not believe that they are a durable application. The "Mark I" is one of the few boilers other Engineers refuse to work on due to the labour involved in the service. I am...

Oil fired heating & hot water

Worcester had a disaster with the Greenstar Camray Mark I condenser. The Mark II is an improvement in terms of baffle arrangement but still lots of plastic, circlips, and the same secondary hex (don't drop the screws). They have a long way to go to restore the faith of oil boiler installers...

Danesmoor 20/25 with Electro Inter B11 burner - bleed advice

BFP is just a type of oil pump. Hopefully should look like this http://i.ytimg.com/vi/zeU3c3B5DNg/maxresdefault.jpg Use a 4mm hex/allen key to loosen port when burner starts and release air? It might take a couple of goes but persevere. Make sure you clean your oil filters!

Danesmoor 20/25 with Electro Inter B11 burner - bleed advice

You should have a BFP pump on thus burner The port you don't want to use is the pressure adjustment which you can identify as it will have a plus/minus symbol above it. Use the pressure Guage port which is identified with single letter " P" with an alien key and a cloth.

    Permanent Job Opportunity - Oil

Anyone know anyone who might be interested in the following vacancy? The incumbent is retiring and the role would suit someone who is looking to come off the tools. There are 2 Engineers in the field and the company had around 2,500 customers. The company is based in Ware Herts...

    Boiler Pricing Quote.......doing it remotely?

The reason you can get 15 quotes from, using your example Home Insurers, is that their actuaries have already developed a formula/calculation based on the information that you give them. It is your time that is used not theirs. The computer is able to generate an instantaneous quote. I have...
