    Gangs to close any ideas?

Would require some measuring but you could try a twin box with a grid frame, two fuse mods and two 20A DP switches. That would save you a little bit of space. If you weren't bothered about switches you could combine all 3 spurs into one twin box which would definitely fit. Without knowing how...

    Gangs to close any ideas?

They're not even the same range of accessories!! The socket is a Schneider Lisse and the FCUs are Schneider Slimline. That'll look gash even when they're screwed back nicely. If they won't go back then there's no choice but to untile, chop out some more width and jiggle them all apart. We...

    Ceiling Downlights

Nothing wrong with either Knightsbridge/MLA or Aurora (which is the Enlite parent anyway) I would check you a) don't need them to be fire rated (probably don't) and there's no insulation surrounding them/covering them as those open backed fittings are a recipe for disaster if there's...

    Potential Electricity Meter issue

Yea there’s nothing to set with a dumb meter. They just power them up and it does the recording. And I guess if they’re dual tariff they’re pre-programmed with times. Taking 10kWh out of the 36 certainly makes it sound more believable.

    Ceiling Downlights

You cannot change lamps in integrated fittings but a fitting with a GU10 lamp holder will almost certainly be bigger than 60mm, they just are. Of the hundreds of Enlite E8s I’ve fitted I don’t think we’ve gone back to one for being faulty so I wouldn’t worry about them dying any time soon. The...

    Fire rated down lights

The only issue with installing them in a flat roof is you shouldn't install them in a cold roof, only a warm roof. Otherwise you will introduce cold spots and potentially condensation. A cold roof is the more common type of flat roof as it's cheaper.

    Toilet extractor fan recommendations

The current fan is both a humidistat and timer fan if it is an Xpelair LV100HTS (Xpelairs part numbers are fantastically simple. Thumbs up for that) If it's 12v the input for the switched supply won't be in the fan it will be in the remote power pack - likely outside the bathroom/shower room

Electrek Poundland LED Light Bulbs - Are they Safe?

I choose them on build quality, which is usually related to price. But not always. I’m looking at you MK

    Landlord Electrical Certificate

It depends how you do it and what the NAPIT backend is like. With NICEIC using their (horrible and buggy) iPad app - which is obviously slower testing, but if there's two of you it's no big deal. Then a certificate takes very little time to prepare. Mostly checking for errors. If you're...

Best option for wiring a bathroom cabinet w/shaver plug

What kW rating are those water heaters? Presumably fairly high to get a shower but I like the idea

Best option for wiring a bathroom cabinet w/shaver plug

Always put shaver points and mirror cabinets on lighting circuits. Just the way it’s done. The load is minimal, particularly with LED

Electric meter in the way of my extension

£950 seems about right. We did one last year and that was move from inside to out, original design was a 2m move but ended up being about a 4m move and was just over £1000 I think, with the onsite builders doing the digging. There are 3rd party companies you can use, at least for...

2 gang switch for 2 lights wiring

Yea if that wasn’t the switch wire and was actually the feed, things might have been a little uncomfortable operating that switch!

That yellow is more than likely not an earth. Your earths are connected to the backbox. That yellow is more than likely a switch live, where was it connected before?

Easiest way to fix mini trunking to plaster wall?

Or it can go the other way, and the adhesive becomes one with the plaster, and pulls huge chunks off the wall when you come to remove it years down the line

    Sterling Alarm Code

I think the problem is more likely the code you're entering is just a user code, so you're not being given the full menu. You're better off in the alarm section. I'll see if I can get you moved.
