Soxrry I'm old school. Mercury isn't used! They have a tilt sensor inside so if say the wall or frame is removed as well if there is a sudden shock on the sensor they activate. I know Yale, Honeywell, texecom, kasp, power max ect ect. Have this function.

    My £180 4CH CCTV Setup - A Review

I've just been into a house to tear a macro system out! They paid 399 for it 6 months ago 2 cameras had already failed. Buy smart guys ask us who deal with these day in and day out. DVRs are decent enough its the cabling and cameras.

    Honeywell 8EP407N

You can get accessories here http://www.alertelectrical.com/prod/1423/ade-gen4-pro-kit-with-lcd-remote-keypad. Contacts for £1.30 I've never used this company so i can't say who they are or what they are like, but at that price I will give them a try!

    Honeywell 8EP407N

Sorry freddy I've missed read your model. Yes that will work as the honey well has isolated zones. Where you can set each one or set the whole lot. My fault apologise.

    Honeywell 8EP407N

That's fine but if you set it at night then your unsettling and then setting again. You can buy window contacts and sell the spare PIRs. I will buy them from you. Lol Also if you don't set your alarm at night and a security breach happens your insurance is invalid even if you haven't told...

    Honeywell 8EP407N

Hi freddy. I would say stay away from PIRs on landings as if you have set the down stairs up right you won't need them at all put window contacts on your windows upstairs And that should be ample protection. As it will be a utter pain when it comes to bathroom trips at a night I can't make...

    Optima G3 alarm problem

The battery on these is located no where near the mains in. You can change the battery without disconnecting the mains. If they are stupid enough to lick contacts then that's there problem. Eighty is right. The alarm pannel is ok to keep on mains as it draws very little power. Hence you don't...

    Recommended alarm type / brand?

This is very true. Sales teams aren't always trained in the knowledge of how an alarm works! You need to know all pros and all cons in all systems no system is 100% and I beg to differ anyone who says they are! If they were my insurance would cover me for a failing System but they don't...

What alarm wired/wireless with phone notification and cats!

Honestly I would say don't even install it, maybe install it in a shed or garage? Or just have it as a spare. As long as the windows are covered by contacts and the main room where the entry's are covered then there is no need for a PIR up stairs. For this house a 4 bed workmans cottage...

    Recommended alarm type / brand?

Well I will write this again as my first one didn't post lol. There many alarms all made to different specifications but all intended to do the same job. You have several factors in that will come into what alarm you want to install. First off always and up most budget what can you afford...

What alarm wired/wireless with phone notification and cats!

As for the response sl2 alarm I stopped installing these about 18months ago. I had 27% fail ratio from batteries failing with in the first few months to seals not being thick enough to keep moisture out. I would say out those alarms the hsa6400 is a good alarm. I've installed about 70 of them in...

What alarm wired/wireless with phone notification and cats!

As a alarm installer I wouldn't recommend pIRs upstairs as its such a hassle to go to the toilet at night you have to mess around with setting and unsettling alarms. Contacts on windows that can be breached is more than sufficient for upstairs. You can get pet PIRs that go one weight and...

Yale Premium Alarm - Exit Siren Beep

As mdf said... However is just the one beep or is continuous beeping? If ts one beep ten as above, if its continues beeping like the siren box in the house then I believe its a battery on a device. But it's been awhile since I've installed Yale I will have to refresh myself... Though mdf s a...

What alarm wired/wireless with phone notification and cats!

There is a whole list of alarms out there. The bottom line is eighty is right! You can get Honeywell alarms from hunters as long as you have some basic knowledge or no how to read they are ok to install. Alternatively install a wireless alarm, you can always upgrade later. If its cheap and...
