Expensive upgrade of incoming mains-worth it?

Most mixer showers I fit come with a 7l per min flow restricter or aerator and this gives a perfect shower! Same with taps. You may have issues with internal pipe work if 6bar and 19l per min won't let you flush a toilet and shower at the same time?!

    Water Softener Advice/Regulations

It is designed for drinking and classed as wholesome water. There is probably more sodium per litre in the bottled water that you buy. Some people on special medication (generally old people) are recommended not to drink softened water. As for the outside tap, seems pointless but not a...

Villeroy and Bosch WC not flushing waste away?

As already suggested check the water level. It may be that there is some dirt in the inlet fill valve and it may just be trickling through and therefore if flushed the cistern will not be up to capacity for a full flush. Check the washer as it may need changing or just put a new inlet valve in.

    Audi A3 2.0T screaming noise?

Wife's car, engine noise. AA came and said fly wheel bearings or clutch. Had two diagnostics now and all said same. So, car in garage with new clutch and flywheel - still same noise?! Simple checks done like oil cap, dip stick seal etc. Is this gonna be an engine prob? Already cost £1k...

    Shower fixing

You need two wall plate elbows which will have a 1/2 inch thread which will connect to the offset male iron nipple that comes with the shower. You will need to fix the wall plate elbow to a piece of wood inside the partition wall and make sure it sticks out enough through the wall to take the...

    hot water supply system

As above, probably needs balancing or the return pump could be on its way out. Also are the taps on tmv's and do they just need adjusting? Dead legs should have been highlighted on risk assessment which should be updated every two years and any recommendations of work should be carried out, ie...

    Zip Chilltap - Any Good?

Yes the zip range probably best on the market, most I come across tell you how many litres have been used before filters need replacing. Good solid build quality. Quite expensive though.

Plumber has been, few questions - Help needed please

Are you sure he said fit a TF1 between the 3 port valve and pump? Better fitted on return before goes back into boiler! I prefer TF1 filters to Magnacleans but spirostrap MB3's are better.

    Shower issue

Probably needs to be re grouted and the silicone seal needs to be replaced as its black and probably perishes. I'd start with with replacing the silicone seal where the tiles meet the shower tray and up any corners.

can i fit non return valve to hot water vent pipe

No you can't fit anything as above. How old is the current system? 22mm feed is the norm, but you may have scale build up in your cylinder and the inlet may be partially blocked. Do you live in a hard water area?

    Expansion Vessel

Could be the schraeder valve or the bladder itself. If its been recharged twice recently then it could be new vessel time. Sometimes you can replace the valve and bladder but its probably wise to just stick a new vessel in.

    Boiler choice

Worcester 18ri or 24ri, glowworm flexicom sx, baxi solo. You can pressurise your heating system and keep your hot water cylinder as it is. If you want to save space then a combi is good so long as you have decent water pressure and you don't put in a piece of junk.

    Gas meter access

A picture would be nice. But as above, a retro fit kitchen is the likely issue.

do I need to use cistern support brackets?

If its low level then two 'L' brackets should be fitted. However they should be out of sight ie the vertical part of the bracket should sit behind the cistern and the horizontal bit will be the part that the cistern sits on (you will be able to see this part of the bracket).
