Get a heating engineer to look at it. Overheat stats etc. are there for a reason disconecting them will lead to permanent damage of the boiler at some stage. Ask yourself...Why disconnect a device that stops the boiler from OVERHEATING.......!!!!

Set the pump to the highest setting, bleed the rads, turn the boiler down to minimum see if the thermostat knocks the system off when up to temperature.

It sounds like you have a "internal overflow syphon" ..When you say overflowing is it sending the water into the tiolet or overflowing from the cistern? If the latter then replace the syphon. If it is going into the toilet then adjust the ball float assembly (there is a plasic bolt) so the...

If the connector at the back of the toilet has failed it is best to replace it........but you can make a "temporary repair" using a product called Denso tape available from B&Q or a plumbers merchant once sealed and cured about a month then paint it with gloss paint and it becomes more permanent.

Can you hear the pump running..it may be sticking (give it a whack with a hammer)....when in doubt give it a clout.
