    Dripping weathercock spindle

So usually the shaft running through the roof is fixed and the cock sits inside the shaft allowing it to spin so the leak should be around the shaft which I suppose you could use some decent mastic or perhaps lead sealant.

    Ugly Conservatory Roof Eaves

If it wasn’t for the second pic I would have said the laminate was contaminated inside the glass as it looks just like it, but yes as Alexander said it’s something to help with the cold bridging/insulation.

    Eaves protection at hips

I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover and I might be wrong to judge from a tiny picture, but here we have a classic checkatrade roofer with ten thousand fake positive reviews coming along to slap a load of plastic on your house and not even finish the job properly for cash. The fact...

Long Gaps Between Brick and Soffit

Absolute w4nk finish. Only quick fix way is to bang a 9mm flat board against that wall and up to the soffit or the birds are gonna have a field day in there.

    Gutter bracket replacement required

Yes it’s ogee but it’s nothing like the profile on that link. There are over 20 variations of ogee. It’s possibly a terrain system but don’t quote me on that.

Dry Ridge and Dry Verge v Conventional Mortar.

I’m an old school mortar man myself. Even on newbuilds I still prefer mortar. The dry verge caps discolour over time.

    Gutter issues

Putting brown square guttering on a lovely house like that with the open eaves rafters on show, part render part brick together with the timber feature windows is like sticking some aftermarket alloy wheels on a 60 year old Daimler. Get that crap off and put some new black round or black...

Felt support under fascia, is it a must?

Most definitely. Rather than shove the trays up, if the bottom row of tiles aren’t nailed you can slide them up to make it easier to get the trays under the existing felt.

End closures for polycarbonate conservatory sheets

The 25mm will eventually pop off. You’ll have to use the 32mm ones.

Can you identify what type of gutter this is?

It’s called a bodge. Only certain people can get this. They have spurs on their boots.

    Suggestions for Polycarbobnate roof

Don’t go for 10mm, go for 16mm. You won’t notice the difference in light

Do we need a full reroof?!?

As woody says, a metre up of breathable and some trays see that roof out for another 10 years. That’s as long as there aren’t any other issues though.

Help identifying our conservatory roof bars please

Those are screw down timber supported glazing bars instead of snap down. You can’t get those anymore. The nearest alternative would be a sunwood 50mm screw down timber supported glazing bar. The difference would be they come with a bead to cover the screws that hammers in place. I don’t have a...
