Here's the offending beastie.

Goodness knows what it is. Its not huge and we've only ever been able to get around 1/4 of a bath from it. Even a morning shower is a bit of a struggle. Its going to be ripped out next month and the old boiler replaced with a new combi boiler.

Pass - there are no markings to be able to tell. I've got three more litres to bung in the system for the next flush. Each litre says its good for ten radiators. I'd estimate the thermal store to be aroung 120-150 litres judging by the size of it.

Having a new boiler put in at the end of next month so got a bit of time to get things flushed out. Just need to nurse this boiler / thermal store along till then.

I'm not expert on your boiler but if it has a keep warm function for the hot water, it may have a faulty thermistor which is causing the stored water to overheat. Are you able to turn off the keep warm function and see if it fixes the problem ?

What make toilet is it ? I've had a nightmare with a Shires recently and they provided me with a donut I've not come across before (large and flat on both sides)

Mine was fine too - no leaks etc but was still knackered. When you have the front pin bit off, its worth soaking it in some kind of descaler as mine had got a bit sticky and wasn't letting the pin return sometimes.
