    Dawn Butler exposed

We see a lot of people posting on youtube extra about the police and quote all the "people have rights and freedoms" . Yes we do have officers who go on a power trip but we also have lots of officers who are very professional too. If a officer walks up to me and asks where i going or been...

    Retaining wall - wrong blocks?

An easy way is to sink 4ft concrete fence posts in by at least 2 foot and use the concrete gravel boards. For extra strength cut the boards to 3ft lengths with some pea single behind them to help with drainage so the wet soil no constantly against the boards. If you already bought the...

Hi There. It might be oils and sap leeching thru from the wood. But a white tinted colour always going to be a pain in garden with the rain. Try giving it a clean with some bleach kitchen spray.

Garden room build, odd shape, roof ideas

Hi Not sure if anyone would agree but i'd make the roofing frame now and use the flooring joists now as a template. You can make small wedges to get the right fall. This way you don't have to use firrings. Just angle the end cuts on the timber.

    Change kitchen countertop help

John quite right. Kitchen looks great and the tiles are nice. I'd be more inclined to choose a new worktop to match the current kitchen and maybe a different paint for walls and ceiling and pay someone to do the joints and cut sink hole for you. You can take the worktop off yourself. Where...

Two Storey Side Extension Timeline - Our Story

Looking good. Oooh the knock thru. When our kitchen extension was done we were lucky as they built the whole extension and waited till we were on holiday to knock thru. Kids were 3 and 5 at the time so was ideal to be away. Still had dust when we got back but only minimal. Worse one was...

    Universal column or universal Beam

Regardless of no load bearing above it still has to carry the dead load of the joists/floorboards themselves and the live load of the furniture etc upstairs. You will be better off putting the beam at the nail plate join. You can get this calculation done on line for a fee. I have to say...

Structural issues on proposed purchase - what do they mean

Yes like all have said work is do able but you need to look at it from a investment angle too. Price you going to pay for property and costs for purchase. Look at similar properties in the area that are in good/excellent condition. This will give you an idea of what your max budget should be...

    white residue on engineering bricks

Try a few bricks with a hot air gun. It looks like paint or a glue residue from under the tyrolean. As others have said be careful with pressure washer or blasting as it can damage the mortar and brick. Ended up myself having the front of my house meshed for the new rendering as it would of...
