Boarding single skin wall in porch

Yes Benny idea the best and use treated batons like roofing ones. I'd conduit that cabling too before you cover the walls and sort the floor. You could possible put an outer skin wall on the porch if you wanted open plan.

    Colour running from mortar

For what you paid for the paving compared to the pointing mix i'd rake it out and start again. Don't use mortar dye. Mix your cement and building sand with black acrylic paint and maybe a touch of water. Do a test sample first and let dry to see if right shade. Brunel Franklin Artists'...

Can't you lay two strips of the 2 by 1 down ( and oil the tops of them ) so it looks like you have 3 equal sections and spread the adhesive. then slide the tray over the base and with a little help pull out the two strips. then tap down to level off

Hanging a wall cabinet in the loft

A cheaper and simpler way is to use 3 x 2 timber 2.4m lengths and 12mm MDF cut into 3 stripes. Make uprights at 1200mm which you could fix to wall and run a 4 x 2 across the floor to support the uprights at the front. I have finished this now and using SAMLA boxes from Ikea to hold stuff in...

Making a garage more useful - not converting

Hi There It all depends and what you really want it for. Don't be spending a fortune and then not use the space. If you do plan on it being a useable room for more than a workshop i'd make it watertight first.
