    Ducting in CLS 63mm studword

The problem with those lovely warm condensing dryers is they still kick out moisture. Ours despite being 1year old Samsung Heatpump we now have mould forming on the coving directly above Dryer. Hence im trading it for a vented. Im guessing re studwork if i cut the slow really low it won't...

I need to vent out the tumble dryer along a 2m stud wall to external. The wall is constructed of 63mm CLS timber. I was looking at cutting through the uprights with 54mm venting am i literally cutting it too thin as i guess im going to end up with a max of 4mm walls ifi cut the slots dead...

    Screed quotes

I've been quoted £2100 to lay celotex and membrane (supplied by us) and 75mm screed supplied by company over 45m2. Any rough idea what I should be paying per m2 on 75mm screed plus labour over block n beam floor? I'm so fed up with such wild quotes from every trade.

    Sewage tank install.

Here is an attached picture they said due to the pipe exit height it had to be dig in beneath ground level. I already have standing water forming around it. Will I need some sort of brick surround to stop water getting in?

    Sewage tank install.

Ive just had a small sewage tank installed externally to house(610x635mm)to pump the waste from our utility room up the driveway to the existing sewage outlet. The installers seemed to be in a hurry which concerned me, i did check with the pump suppliers who said it should be dropped in a wet...

    Warm roof concern

Our building control officer claimed 'it should be ok' as the foiled backed pir foam acts as a VCL?! I feel we can trust noone, apart from this new roofer, is that bs?

    Warm roof concern

Thanks Harry, indeed a good question, does show their lack of competency. So all has to come off and be replaced i guess?

    Warm roof concern

We had some concerns with our roofers and quality of work so called out a reputable roofer to check out the work on our warm flat roof with the intention to possibly take over the job. He immediately noticed breathable roofing membrane had been used instead of a VCL (vapour control layer). I...

    Plumbing in cistern

I am about to plumb in the toilet cistern and would appreciate some photos of a tidy job you've done or other examples. I looked at a braided loop maybe with isolater valve or similar. I want it to look as neat as possible as it will be visible as the door is to the left of toilet. Here is an...

Samsung heat pump dryer drum seized?

Just to update here for anyone wondering if i fixed it. I took the back panel off which covers the drum drivebelt and exposes the fan bottom left driven by the main motor. I turned that by hand as it seemed to be seized, this free'd up the rotation of the drum. Refitted it all fire up the...

Samsung heat pump dryer drum seized?

Our heat pump dryer is only a few years old. However this morning I heard an ominous grumbling sound like a drive belt jumping and the drum had stopped. I tried to start it again and could just hear a humming I guess of motor trying to turn. Removed all laundry and the drum feels really stiff...

    Paslode not firing im350

I cleaned out the cylinder head area especially round the igniter, the main piston area and checked all o-rings. Re applied the paslode oil to the bore and orings, with a fresh paslode gas cylinder works like a charm again thanks.
