    Gas working pressure drop

    you have pressed the function key during the start up faze and switched from the natural gas to a different setting. when purging at about 20 ses press function and it should step through the different gasses, oils etc you can test.

    pilot light on optima 701

    when you push in the button on the gas valve there is a little switch to tell boiler to start fan and spark! I had one on sat that the switch was not being made hance no ignition sequence. When you push in the button does the fan start??

    If you cant get a heat exchanger for this I'll eat my hat!!! The H/E is a fairly involved job and required various saftey checks being done afterwards so its not reccomended for the DIY man! worcester would do it as a fixed price repair. £200 ish.

    BG will be £170 - £200 dependant on your location for a fixed price repair. I would be looking at a dirty pilot light not enveloping the ignition electrode enough. When stripping these out to clean it a 50/50 whether the pilot supply tube will snap...worth left to a proffesional.

    you dont happen to have thermostatic rad valves and they are turned down to 2 or 3?? They will turn themselfs off. when the rooms heat up.

    agree scatman, hang off those grub screw to get them tight and it will still leak!! Its the small o rings where the spindle passes from the DHW housing to the CH divertor valve that are leaking and can either be replaced as part of a service kit or the whole valve replaced. for the service...

    IMHO a blocked main heat exchanger, pump does sound likes its pumping against itself tho therefor is not the problem.

    Spot on there!! You should replace the Heat exchgr and fit a magnaclean filter to protect your investment! A flush might also be worthwhile and some inhibitor.
