I presume the condensate pipe is after the trap of the bath down stream thus preventing the fumes coming back up the drain??? You will always get a few PPM CO from combustion, sure worcester say upto 100 ppm is ok.

its not so much of a tap as a blue round tube like thing. middle of the boiler towards the front just after the white plastic casing of the pcb. Remeber to turn the correct way when tring to loosen it.

Depends on how much heat can get away through gravity circulation but 5 mins is a bit longer than one would imagine. 2 mins maybe.

Divertor valve passing and allowing the heated water that is ment to be heating the HW heat exchanger to go into your rads.

Always use bungs..... cone type and expanding ones.... I NEVER drain anything....also I never relieve the pressure using the drain...always use the coupling of what I want to change..... for 3 ports I close a pump valve and that makes it into only 2 open ends. IMHO they are better than 95% I...

Boiler will only fire for short periods on HW mode....if its ok on heating then the boiler aint your problem. You could have a faulty motorised valve, faulty cylinder stat or a blockage in your HW circuit.

How long is the Flue?? Restirctor as suggested and then possibly a fan, Have seen them become lazy on long flues.

I think it is a small minority that fail, of the thousands I have seen and replaced or recharged I could count maybe 2 or 3 that have started to leak. It would be unfair to say that anything is 100% reliable and there will always be floods, how main rads pinholing have brought ceilings...

Hot water diapramn, the divertor bobin or the HW micro switch are the likely culprits.

If the system is designed properly, the rads are sized to the room thus heating them up to the required temp at the same time as the hallway with the room stat is heated to 20oC

Easy......no stat.....boiler runs ans runs for full time timer is on.....cycling on and off...pump running const. Room stat...on for 1 hr maybe...up to temp...everthing shuts off...no energy used after this point until stat calls again.

You can have 2 open ends and no need to release the pressure if you are careful. you should not even need to bund it if you are taking a rad off.

average saving for having an additional room stat is £65 per year approx, now as gas goes up so does the saving.

You could not see a motorised valve as this system does not use any! Sounds like possibly a couple of faults.....might have air in the system or a boiler stat fault. then there might be a control problem, Pump control board, room stat, timer?? Not sure if this tank switches on the CH pump...

Sounds indeed like a gas valve, but if you are an avid diy man this is NOT a job for you!!!! Need to be checked for tightness and set up afterward and a perfocmance check carried out.
