DONT go with E&L they are the pits, we are looking to move our policy. Argos gets very good reviews, so they are our favourites at the moment.

If you can get any, there is a big shortage of sprouts this year due to the poor weather conditions earlier in the year, most of the UK crop was lost. Good news for the ozone layer though :P

    Broken Mouse

I have a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, the mouse has its own dock which rehcarges it, really neat!. The micro switch for the left button is worn out and I would like to replace it. Anybody know of a source? I have tried Maplin, but they don't do anything that small. Logitech claim...

    Diesel

I travel to work daily, a round trip of some 60 miles. If we keep getting these weekly increases in fuel then it will come to the point where its not cost effective to work. I'm sure diesel is more because greedy old government realise that diesel give more mpg, hence the higher price, I...

    sparks and fireworks

The hooligans round our way were putting large fireworks next to cars and then setting them off, I can only assume the intention was to break the windows or try and damage the vehicles. We see plenty of other louts regularly throwing and sending rocket horizontally down footpaths. The sad...

I used the Thompsons product on my concrete patio slabs. It does soak in to a degree as the concrete is porous. After two coats it gives a good finish

I always take mine to the local scrap yard, don't want anything for them, just happy to get rid of them without having to hire a skip. Our local tip wont allow you take more that one a week, so a whole house will take some 2-3 months to get rid of.

    Screw stuck!

Try this first, File two opposite sides of the head down to form flat parallel surfaces and then use a pair or mole grips or similar (flat against wall) to turn the screw, this will give better levergae and has worked for me in the past. Alternatively, put a piece of ply against the wall...

Draining a tank with no drain cocks

How about fitting one of these http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro.jsp?cId=101168&ts=44532&id=13768 on to an exposed piece of pipe (as near to ground level as possible). Then you can at least drain the tank if its full  The section of pipe will of course need to be replaced after...

    lawnmower

I hope it isn't one of those B&Q Mountfield mowers, mine has shaken itself to pieces in the last two years since new. Bolts fall off all the time, a wheel fell off last week, regularly cokes up as it doesn't have a proper needle carb, only one of those cheap diaphragm types, and you can't adjust...

    Looking for acorns

I have noticed on our many dog walks that there are very few acorns this year. Those that have formed have turned into galls, because of an increase in the little wasp that causes them to form. Why not use beech nuts instead this year they are in abundance
