Cooling the home, are these costs real?

My built in air con costs about £1 per day. Not scientific just watching in home display. Not on all day either probably somewhere between 6-8 hours when it was really hot. 2 units, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom, with doors open to let it circulate around a 2 bed bungalow.

    Tile drilling with masonry bits?

Normal masonary drill in an old fashioned hand drill until you break through the glazed surface. Then you can use a normal drill on slow speed. If you have to make a larger hole just gradually increase the size of the drill bit using the hand drill each time to break through the glaze.

Yes, it IS rocket science !

I think the recent attempts/practice are because they want to make it reusable e.g. space shuttle.

Building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways

As your neighbour is in agreement I would build it. The worst that can happen is you will have to take it down again. I had a house in the early eighties (built in the mid 70’s) with gardens that had a covenant to be kept “open plan”. 3 of us got together and built a 3 foot wall around the front...

    Issue with hired electrician

My electrician always sent the paperwork through a few days after. Presumably because he had to enter the details of the test results etc. Dont they also have to use NICEIC papers/test sheets? Perhaps he’s just catching up on the paperwork?

    Turbos on 1 litre engines

I get the idea behind smaller IC engines but Governments of all persuasions are paying lip service to climate change/pollution. Why do they still allow all the plumes of smoke and flames as footballers, rugby teams run out, score a goal/try. Firework displays for special events/new year and...

    Removing Asbestos soffits

I have worked with asbestos and one of my friends died just over 12 months ago from mesothelioma Whatever method you choose is liable to cause some damage. I would dampen it down before removing and tackle the nail heads. Alternatively and more safely I would paint it.

    Flags

All public buildings should be obliged to fly the Union flag and that of the relevant home nation, schools, libraries, council offices etc. Then there would be no need for anyone else to fly a flag other than a show of support for special events, world cups, coronation, jubilees, VE day etc. I...

    Massive headphones - under 20's?

They are worn by people who want to be noticed. Ooohh look at me I’ve got turkey teeth, silicone implants, tatoos on my face, pink hair, big headphones, banging music driving down the high street. They are all just saying LOOK AT ME in one way or another.

    Is This A Weed Grass

You need patience to deal with grass, learning every day, mostly by trial and error because no two situations are the same. Try different techniques, watering, seeds, mowing etc. Eventually it will improve and you will start to get the hang of it.

    Is This A Weed Grass

There is a facebook group called lawn right community. I would ask on there. I dont think it is nut sedge as the centre stalk tends to be thicker all the way up to the seed heads. However I have only seen it on google. https://m.facebook.com/groups/lawnrightcommunity/?ref=share
