Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Car is not write off, bought it from an honest private seller, did full HPI check myself, has full immaculate service history, all from main BMW dealer. I think buckled wheel is one issue that has to be sorted regardless as two tyre fitters have said that same wheel is buckled. Just ordered one...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Ok here's an update: So I drove the car with the new Tyres today for about 30 miles at various speeds and have found I get pulsation and vibration through steering wheel and brake pedal now even without braking, but more pronounced when braking. Am I right in thinking the new Tyres have just...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Ok, front tyres replaced this afternoon and got some feedback from the fitter too as I told him beforehand what problems i'm having. These are his observations: 1. one of the tyres was indeed out of shape and he showed me it too 2. both tyres had different production dates, one was two years...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Ok I've gone through the pain of splashing out on new Tyres, they'll be fitted tomorrow, let's see how it goes. I'm assuming it may take a few hundred miles for the disc pads to readjust again if original Tyres were out of tune...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

I don't think that could be happening as yesterday was the longest journey I did and I touched the front discs straight after and they weren't hot enough to burn fingers, let alone warp solid steel.

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Ok thanks for replies, yes I agree, front Tyres need replacing regardless. My garage fortunately keeps changing the parts for me under warranty as they have good relations with ECP, just need to get down to the cause though...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Thanks John, only issue with swapping wheels is the fronts are 245/40/20 and rears are 275/35/20, now will this cause any problems? I don't ever put my foot down on the road so I don't think traction will be an issue. I have put brand new Tyres on the rears. The fronts were also out of balance...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Ok, it's only been 151 miles since new brembo discs and pads and I've already today started feeling the 'pulsating' in the brake pedal and steering when braking. This is how it begins and then horrible judder after a few more hundred miles. My observations so far: there is just a slight...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Thanks Target Dummy, my symptoms do sound similar. I don't get any vibrations at any speed unless I brake. But if I turn the steering a little to left or right I do sometimes get a pulsating feeling through the steering. Also, with brand new discs and pads even after just a few miles, I can feel...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Hi yes, they are the factory fitted 20" 303m alloys with Pirelli p zero run flats. I had changed the rears just a few months ago so they are brand new more or less. But the fronts have got to be many years old as the rubber has plenty of cracks along the tread, but no signs of uneven wear at all...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Ok I just had a chat with a reputable BMW independent in Solihull and he is saying that he had a similar case a few years back with an M5, everything was replaced, callipers, hubs, discs pads control arms etc but problem kept coming back. He said the problem was his refurbished front alloy...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Also, I don't think they've done a run out test on the front hubs, don't even think BMW dealer did that as they got the diagnosis wrong anyway. Who could I go to in Birmingham/Solihull? Also, I had front alloys balanced, the tyre place said they couldn't really notice any significant buckling...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Many thanks for the reply. My mechanic inspected the rear discs and pads said they were ok, although pads will need to be changed soon, they are a little less than 50% thickness. What I did find with the rears is that when hand brake applied and I get out of car I can for a moment hear the rear...

Steering/brake pedal judder upon braking - BMW F02

Hi everyone hoping to get some help with this on-going problem, which i've researched into A LOT on the internet but still no luck. Ok, I bought my BMW 730ld 2011 reg (53k genuine on clock) this April 2016. the brake judder was present at time of sale and the seller said that he had replaced...

how/where to install connection points for DIY power flush machine?

Hi Ive read a lot on the net on possible locations to connect a power flush machine for my central heating and have decided its best to connect it directly to the supply and return 22mm pipes from the combo boiler as the pipes to and from the rads are all 10mm micro bore. I don't really have...

How to pour cleaner into combi system in new build?

Hi everyone I have a small new build house bought in 2008 and the contractors put Fernox inhibitor into it then. I'd now like to flush the system, pour cleaner in, let it run, then flush and pour inhibitor in. Flushing will be straight forward I hope as there is a tap for central...

how to flush CH in bungalow (combo boiler in loft)?

Thanks for the reply. The boiler has a 22mm supply and return pipe, which go down from loft and then split into lots of 10mm pipes which go underground in the solid concrete floor to all the rads, so no individual rads going straight to boiler. Does this mean I'll be able to drain most of the...

how to flush CH in bungalow (combo boiler in loft)?

hi everyone Fernox F3 has been circulating in the central heating system for a couple of weeks now, and as well as it clearing the blockage in my boiler/diverter valve I've noticed it has made the boiler operate very quietly, its as quiet as some brand new boilers i've observed, so really...
