    Guttering accumulation of Pine Needles

They look like they would do the job , but at around £110 each, I need 14 of them so at £1540, I could get a little man in to clean the guttering so a bit expensive. Thanks for the tip Nige.

    Guttering accumulation of Pine Needles

Yeah , on a closer look the debri in the gutter will blow all over the place and in my case there is a lot of junk in the gutters in the Spring and autumn. I think the only practical solution is to hand clean and collect the junk as you go. I think paying a Handy Man is the only answer. Thanks...

Thanks Mottie, looks like a possibility and at only £70 from Amazon worth a try.

    Guttering accumulation of Pine Needles

The capital is a way of highlighting the areas of concern that creates the problem. As I mentioned in the question, I have tried the Screwfix 68030 things (12 of them), all they do is stop the Pine Needles from entering the down pipe and by doing so blocks the flow of water into the downpipe...

    Guttering accumulation of Pine Needles

Hi Harry, Good idea, thanks so much for your suggestion, but the problem is that when it becomes necessary it is when the damn Pine Needles rain down like a snow storm in the autumn and similarly the Tree seed things in the spring, when this happens flushing down the guttering flushes the...

    Guttering accumulation of Pine Needles

I have a bi-annual 'pain in the Bum' job which I have done for the past 20 years as I just can't find an alternative solution that works although I have scratched my head for ideas. The problem is that I have a lot of Pine trees in my garden which are under a council preservation order so I...

    Wind Turbines

There is not much to understand regarding the numbers. The numbers confirm that the WInd Turbines are under unitised. A capacity factor of under 0.5 is indicative of that. If the wind blows - Use it. The original posting was asking the base question as why are wind turbine not...

    Wind Turbines

It seems to be a better basis that the controllers of the energy system are using.

    Wind Turbines

That means that 90% were working, That is a very high percentage. Some people on this thread are suggesting the figure is between 15-35% working and are satisfied with that performance. I think is is ridiculous.

    Wind Turbines

Thats is a very strange comment to make. My opinion is that they should be generation 100% of the time in the Wind Window (not Idle MOST of the time) so they provide the Base Load from a zero emission source, then allow the dirty generators provide the load swings. Nothing at all to do with...

    Wind Turbines

Hi IT, your Teesside Windfarm Statistics look correct, but I observe a recently constructed windfarm 1 mile from my home, it consists of 18 - 3MW units and is a very new construction with in the last 5 Years, and even this New installation lays idle for a lot of the time. I can't get an accurate...

    Wind Turbines

John, Read the link to which you refer. It does not address the question. I am more than happy to accept my claim on Pricing is incorrect. BUT Please stop waffling and answer the question of "WHY DO WIND TURBINES STAND IDLE DURING THE WIND WINDOW IF POWER FROM THEM IS CHEAPER." Gas Stations are...

    Wind Turbines

Nortch/IT Minion, I am not against wind Turbines, on the contrary, I am pro WInd Turbine for CO2 emission reasons. Stop Waffling and address the original question. WHY DO WIND TURBINES STAND IDLE IN THE WIND WINDOW IF IT IS CHEAPER FOR DISTRIBUTERS TO BUY POWER FROM THAT SOURCE INSTEAD OF NUKE...

    Wind Turbines

You are missing the point JohnD. If the Electrical distributers pay Less for Wind Turbine Generated Power, then why do these turbines lay Idle for a lot of the time, that can only be that the Electrical distributers pay more highly for the power from the conventional generators for contractual...

    Wind Turbines

But only when the wind blows in the appropriate wind speed window, when it doesn't we need the Nukes/Gas Plants. By the way JohnD, They are not Windmills, Windmills were used to produce flour, these monstrosities are Wind Turbines. They are not saving us a fortune at all, the price WE pay for...

    Google-Apple Mail-Gmail

Does this mean that Apple Mail is considered a 'Less Secure App'?? The article you have been kind enough to forward suggests that Google have added security to their their Account system which considers AppleMail as a none secure app and that a solution could be to ensure my iMac should be...

    Google-Apple Mail-Gmail

I have an iMac(OS Yosemite) with Google installed. I have used Apple Mail with Gmail for years. I had to change my Google Password which was no problem but it obviously stopped the Apple Mail/ Gmail operation. Clearly it was necessary to change the Password in the IMAP and SMTP setup using the...

    Wind Turbines

John, I am asking why the WInd Turbines dont provide the Base Load and the swings taken by Fossil fuel (Oil and Gas) and Nuclear stations. Oil and Gas stations can be switched on and off relatively easily and quickly.

    Wind Turbines

Again another silly JohnD remark. WInd Turbine operators can sell cheaper as they dont have fuel costs to shoulder, but they don't because their prices are linked to the market by legislation.

    Wind Turbines

That is a bit of a silly obvious remark. I did refer to the fact that I see many idle wind turbines on days that the wind speed window is acceptable. The window is acceptable on the days to which I refer because some turbines are rotating whilst many others are stationary.
