Issue with Radiator connected with 8mm Piping to existing 15mm Copper

Does the rad eventually get too hot to touch? If you turn the other rads thermostats to zero does it get hot quicker?

    Painting over wallpaper cost-effectively

Can I just add, you mention antique furniture and problems steaming. I'm a professional decorator and have wallpapered hundreds of rooms in my time and it is very rare I have to use a steamer. The top layer normally just pulls off and then you just wet the underneath with a brush, leave it 5...

    Painting over wallpaper cost-effectively

You would probably get away with sealing it with some Leyland acrylic primer. It's currently under £15 for 2.5l in toolstation. Are there any current bubbles in the paper? The new owners are highly likely to just whip it all off anyway. The zinsser wallpaper cover up Opps linked earlier is...

    Painting over wallpaper cost-effectively

To be fair OP seems to have not bothered coming back to see the replies. It could just be already painted! Maybe 20 grand in that London lol.

    Dulux Plaster Sealer

Messy? A mist coat is just slightly thinned paint. You can buy Fortress Trade plaster paint from screwfix for about £28 for ten litres. This will probably be similar to the dulux stuff you used. Personally I just use the Leyland trade Matt from screwfix mixed with about 20% water. 2 x 10lt is £28

Is the wallpaper already painted (blown vinyl/anaglipta)or is it patterned wallpaper that may need sealing first?

Sanding & Decorating around new sash window

Do you know what they've filled it with? I think it can be sanded but I would then recommend neatening it up with some polyfilla or equivalent sanding it smooth. Obviously then the wall will need painting again.

Rad slow to heat up fully

I meant air can be blocked somewhere in the system and it may need more than a quick bleed to shift it along. Air will get to the highest point but it isn't always instantly. Bleeding for more than a quick 'yep, there's water there' will often help with getting any trapped air moving along, past...

Rad slow to heat up fully

Yes but that doesn't necessarily mean it is free of trapped air. Often you will get instant water then all of a sudden, big splutters of air as it's pushed through (trapped other side of rad, trapped in pipes, trapped in other radiators)

Rad slow to heat up fully

How long did you bleed it for? It sometimes takes a few seconds for air to splutter out.

New rimless toilet weakest flush ever

'Come round and do you' my God! Thing is, if you've sent links to this thread then they will definitely have read it. To be honest, at first it probably would seem like it was a problem with the toilet or the flush BUT once you showed him the pics of the silicone he should have held his hand up...

Universal click waste in place of pop up?

Hi. My daughter has a pop up waste in her house ( the one where you press a lever behind the taps) but the pop up system doesn't work. She has to take the plug physically out to empty the sink. Before I replace it for a new one could one of these universal pop up plugs just be dropped into the...

Is the recent Dulux problem white gloss only?

The dulux diamond satin is a strange one to work with but once you use it a few times you get used to the flow and I've found the finish great as have all my customers. Expensive stuff though. Rollered doors look amazing

    Solvent Based Satinwood Problems

Personal choice obviously. I've recently been using the dulux diamond trade satin and it goes on a treat and so much whiter than oil based. All doors were rollered so zero brush marks. I did use some leyland trade oil based a few times a couple of years ago that went on great.

Paint bubbling - specific sections only

The new paint is not bonding to the old. Have you let it dry completely to see if it the bubbles disappear? Are you sure the original paint was matt? Has fizzy pop or polish or similar been sprayed up the walls? If you pop a bubble does it show through to original colour or is the original...
