    Extension pitched roof

Hi all, we are planning on adding a pitched roof to an extension we want to build with Marley concrete tiles on it and two roof lights in it. The total span will be about 5.5 metres. 31 degrees pitch. Which leaves the rafters length at 3430mm and the rise 1646mm What I wanted to ask is if we...

    Unlevel door lining

Pulling the blade back and then running the sole and sides flat across the wet and dry keep it flat? Use fine buy some and keep it for that purpose. You can squirt oil on the wet and dry while it's on a flat surface to the rub the planes on. Have a look how clean jobandknocks planes are, that's...

    Pine Table - Broken Fixing

Likewise as Burnerman suggested I think it would be hard to stick back really, because of the function of the part if you cut back to the square section, you might as well replace the whole part with a close grained hardwood as suggested.ramin,oak,ash,maple. You could mark the new part to match...

    HINGES DON'T MATCH?

I think at one time various manufacturers used to sell them, all about the same. So I'm not surprised.

Cutting a worktop thats finished on both edges

The multi trim cutters are handy as you can make a template for the whole worktop (with a nice trammel radius?) and leave it in place when you turn it over, unless you clamp it to the worksurface, then you have further problems ha...

Tooth pick? Nah glue and widget some bits of wood with a chisel and Stanley knife. Watching those pinkies of course. Personally wouldn't have drilled a larger hole. Anyway have a good one!

    HINGES DON'T MATCH?

To me they look like steel hinges, the older ones used to be thicker, but they look they should replace, hole positions hmmm! Good luck, I've come across some that I would say yes they are okay... Then they are 2-3mm out which makes it more interesting!

    Cabinets not square

If you have freestanding appliances, just be aware of putting pipes etc behind them, check the depth of them will be ok with what you're fitting. Make sure doors will open ok once knobs are on. Check the height of your appliances against the height, you're setting your base units to. Also check...

    Cabinets not square

You've lost me.... What are you going to do with the worktop to the right side of the oven housing, the final end panel top edge? How is the worktop going to finish there?

    Cabinets not square

Have you checked the front face is all in line? What are you going to do with the exposed edge this side in photo 2 where your level is? The gap in photo 3 could be anything, its where it runs when you have a run of units in place to see how far out its running. f you're using 600 worktops...

    Cabinets not square

Drop them in dry to see what is happening, as the sides will need to be flat against each other it will give you an idea if and where you are going wrong and if adjustments are needed. Be careful with packing out as your worktop depth will change, doors are on the front of the units I presume...

    Record Floor Clamps....153 or 153A?

What like a firmware update do you mean? Nah just your everyday clamp it and use it. I would have thought, given the period they have been around they would have been well stress tested. :-)

    Stair stringers

If I may? Do you like that skirting? It's an horrible detail, can you: 1/ not get them to snag it and point out the dodgy beading and the detail? 2/ change the skirting to something more appropriately sized, height wise? So that it runs into the stair stringer. 3/ Take that manky beading of...
