eggshell finish paint was recommended to me by 3 professional painters when i painted my bathroom some years ago i have tiled it lately but there was no problems with the eggshell

listen to richard c as he is right if you paint it with ordinary oil paint at some time with the boiling water it will lift the paint and it is also dangerous for health reasons there is a special bath enamel for the job

you can paint matt emulsion over vinyl silk emulsion no problem as they are the same water based
