    Noisy Boiler

    Kettling is caused by hot spot in the heat exchanger due to sludge or scale deposits. A new expansion vessel will not cure this problem & power flushing may cause more harm than good with you appliance as it will block the domestic hot water heat exchanger.

    pf stands for power flue (has a fan). if there are no lights on the boiler but the programmer is ok i would suggest the fuse is ok, I would expect that the problem lies with the diverter valve or zone valves on your system as these are what will control the boilers operation.

    Before spending your £210.00 get your boiler engineer to look at the electrode lead at the electrode end , as breaking down of this lead can cause intermittent lock out.

    Back Boiler pilot light goes out when the fire is turned on

    I would seriously call a corgi engineer as mixing the make of fire and back boiler is not normal/safe.The pilot outage could also be put down to a spillage of fumes from the fire.GET IT CHECKED.

    If it was the expansion vessel i would expect the problem to be evident on both heating & hot water.     Baxi boiler works after reset, but shows fault once cool

    Am I right in thinking the fault occurs when demand is satisfied. Is your boiler the instant model? because I have never come across the problem you have described.

    Drain the boiler only ,this boiler has isolation valves (which do not leak when moved) and a drain cock inside the appliance under the pump. When boiler is empty check the pressure in the expansion vessel is 1Bar. When you say boiler is operational is it running heating or water.
