    Strange (to me) circuit breaker.

At my tennis club there is a circuit breaker which has a reset button, whech, apparently, needs to be "pumped" in order to reset it. I've never heard of this before, and I wondered if anybody could shed some light on the subject. FYI, it is connected to about 6 socket outlets in the kitchen...

    bleach on decking !!!!!!!

I doubt it. The whole point of bleach is that it removes colour, so the only way to undo the effect is to add colour.

    Tiling bathroom floor

Hi, I'm considering replacing the carpet in our bathroom with ceramic floor tiles, the floor is currently standard "30's semi" floorboards. I'm guessing that I could lay 12mm WPB ply over the boards and tile to that, but I'd like to minimize the step from the landing to the bathroom. Can I...

    Joining a worktop

I've made cutouts for the worktops bolts freehand, and I'm a computer programmer. So it can't be too hard!

    removing a picture rail 'cleanly'

You're probably right. I think my father was trying to stay in the "filling" domain, as he didn't consider himself a plasterer.

    removing a picture rail 'cleanly'

Yes, of course it does. If I do a job for somebody, does it matter if I earn £20 or £30 an hour? Yes, of course it does!

    removing a picture rail 'cleanly'

My father used to split picture rail with an old wood chisel, then carefully remove the cut nails, usuallly by shearing them off by twisting in a claw hammer. He claimed this damaged the plaster less.

I have an Elektra Beckum TG500 flip-over saw, what type of blade would you recommend for a good compromise between ripping and cross-cutting?

    Where to buy Formica(or similar)?

I'm hoping to put together a router table some time shortly, and most of the designs I've found are covered in SRBP laminate, such as Formica. Where on earth can you buy this? I've searched with Google for ages, but can't find anything. Edit: I now searched this forum, and found out how...

    Tumble Dryer condensation

Happened to me once, the seals round the door were old and bad, the moisture couldn't be bothered to go outside through the ducting, it was easier to go straight out around the door.

    Wooden stave kitchen worktop joints

Thanks, I was having trouble vizualising it, but I understand now. I'll go for a straight butt and router the edges afterwards. I have a 1/2 inch router, BTW.

    Wooden stave kitchen worktop joints

Jason, thanks for the answer, but... I do want to round the edges at some point. Having given it some more thought, I have worked out that either I round the edges first, and then cut a mason mitre, or I make a straight butt joint and round the edges afterwards, but the latter way will leave an...

    Wooden stave kitchen worktop joints

I'm fitting oak block worktops in my kitchen, they currently have square cut edges. Do I need to buy/hire a jig and make a butt and scribe (is that right) joint for the corners, or should I make a straight joint and then round the edge with the router? Any advice welcome! P.S. The worktops are...
