Can I just clrify how the wiring is laid for an intruder alarm. Ignoring connecting the contacts etc. as I have an electrician who willl do this, I just need to lay 6 core cable from one contect to the next in each zone and then back to the panel.

I am planning to run SpeedFit pipe in the insulation under the floor screed. I will be running it in the SpeedFit conduit. Should I clip it in place or leave it running in a channel in the insulation?

Could somebody point me in the direction where I can get a deep backbox for a 6 socket grid switch. The deepest i can find are about 40mm. With two way lights etc. it needs to be as deep as possible.

I don't think much would happen. Answer - 11 Earths, 8 Neutrals, 10 Lives (including two jumpers), 9 wires in the three core. So 27 plus earths. As deep as possible back box. :lol:

I need to run water and central heating pipes in the insulation under the screed in a barn conversion. How do I tee off given that joints must be accessible. This must be a common problem in barn conversions. Thanks

Thanks but that is not a lot of use. Can anybody else offer any more constructive advice. I will be employing a plumber and heating engineer but I am trying to get all the service pipes in before I lay patios and turf.

Thanks Could the pipe enter the building and then run under the floor screed and insulation to where it rises near the boiler? It would be around 20cm (maybe more) below the top of the screed. If this is OK would it need to be in conduit?
