cowboy left us with cold shower!

Yeah, youre right, it is item89618 - the Swirl one. All I know is it's an Ideal Standard combi, fairly new. I would have to search for the instructions to find the model. We're in Hull.

I've just looked in the catalogue and they don't seem to sell it anymore but they have similar ones without the back jets.

I think it was around £200 new, last summer. It's pretty decent. Obviously it was only chrome plated as the builder either scratched it off or put something on it to turn it copper but it's quite heavy.

Thats great, thank you. It's always good to have a little knowledge of the possible problem when you call someone in. We don't believe in meddling with plumbing & electrics - they're best left to the experts. It's just difficult to find someone who's trustworthy. I've even had a decorator &...

cowboy left us with cold shower!

I can't really tell I'm afraid. It happens when I turn the thermostat up and sounds like an old bicycle wheel that needs oiling! It squeeks every couple of seconds. There's a sticker on the boiler saying it's been fitted with Sentinel x100 and not to drain the system (which I'm fairly sure the...

I think we're overlapping here, sorry. :) I've had a look but can't see a model no. It's an Ideal Standard combi. Fitted about 4 yrs ago.

cowboy left us with cold shower!

It's because everything worked fine until he turned it off to do the work required after the flooding. He then did the bathroom before we moved back in. We had leaks on the toilet waste pipe & bath water pipe, plus he made the shower leak when he came back to fit the coil. This ended in half the...

Is it likely to be costly? And we know another plumber but he isn't corgi registered - is he able to fix it or would we need a corgi reg plumber? Also, our cowboy left us with a squeeky central heating boiler too - any ideas whats causing it? Everything was fine until he did the bathroom!

cowboy left us with cold shower!

without sounding too much like a dumb blonde  is a PRV and a pressure equalising valve the same thing? There's a screw type valve on one of the pipes that my hubby turned when the underbath pipe leaked through to the kitchen but the 'cowboy' came back & fixed that so I assumed he'd...

Ta-da! Thank goodness for modern technology (and the fact that we don't have a bath panel yet because we don't trust the plumbing  ) Do these help?

cowboy left us with cold shower!

Can anyone help me please? Last summer we had builders in repairing our home after the big floods. We mentioned that we would like a new bathroom and one of them (a friend of my husbands family) said he could do it. So we paid him to do it (turned out to be a big mistake!). He persuaded us to...

    Laying pavers over concrete

Hi, does anyone know if it's possible to lay pavers over concrete? And if so - how? We have a drive thats half concrete/ half tarmac and want to gravel the garden to the side of it. Therefore we would like to lay two strips of pavers over the drive for the car to drive onto and infill with...

    Quick fixes

Sorry Andy, just didn't have the time to allow it to dry. The one coat looks fine at the moment. I'm sure we will need to do it again in a year or so but it's not that thick and we can overpaint with a harder wearing paint when the time comes. Growler really did give us the best solution for the...
