How are these overload devices tested? Or are we just supposed to trust them? I saw some reports of fake units with nothing inside them.....just a switch. I dont mean the RCD side of things just the overlad side.

I see this all over the place when any work is being done to the outside of a building. The cables have pipe insulation on them where they are near the buildings. I have even see this on concentric feeds! Is it to protect the cables or protect the builders? Same thing with plastic bags wrapped...
