He wasn't proposing that. He was suggesting powering the thermostat (with volt-free switching) from the lighting circuit. RCD will not trip.

The main point is that they don't even claim it's class 2, and yet provide no earth connection. I am rather dubious what they mean by purification as well. Are they going to purify your eyes or what?

I thought it was volt-free thermostat contacts - not likely to cause a separate issue! Might be hard to demonstrate, but not dangerous.

Either is fine - the voltage of the replacement just shouldn't be lower. Physical size tends to increase with voltage.

I would imagine you can get more than one wire in a connector position.

Although we don't know what make or model your hob is, a search on the internet for that and 'E6' will give you several results. Sounds like a pcb needs replacing.

Interesting, I assume that plasterboard comes with a height of 2.4m to save having to have a join, so I guess that 2.3m is less than 100mm lower than most homes. I detest pendant lights anyway, but that is my choice. Using the ceiling to reflect upward facing light has always been my favourite.
