    Cooker Hood Help

This seems to be your only check so far. It is not very useful or meaningful I'm afraid. A voltage detector can't measure current or even 'juice', and will see voltages all over the place. With a two pole voltage measurement device you could well find a broken or badly made connection somewhere...

    Toothbrush charger socket ensuite

I looked at one of those (with the extra shaver socket), but then thought about how the toothbrush charger base looks after a few months of toothpaste dripping onto it, however careful you are. When it's a separate item it's easy to change when it gets really foul.

    Replacement Meter Box

I think you're about 40 years out of date. You shouldn't really guess at things like this as it could cause people trouble. It is the householder's responsibility. Also accusing people of criminal acts is libel.

    wind power

Suggest you spend some time on a forum devoted to wind and solar power. In general people's results from this kind of project are very disappointing. You need a massive mast, and need no houses or trees in the area. Typically a field may do. I have read endless tales of woe about wind turbines...

How to join two 4mm SWA cables?

May depend how deep the cable was buried!

    Wiring a fused light switche

Unless you have more knowledge than the person who originally designed the circuit it is unwise to leave out a fuse that was in the original design.

Could we see the picture of the original switch still connected?

    Wiring for EV charger

To overcome all these issues, couldn't you just put in a flexible conduit with pull-strings, so the correct wires can be pulled in when you are sure what they are?

    Abuse of language

I was rather surprised to learn last week that the french call such a word a possessive adjective (I 've always thought of it as a possessive pronoun - but when you think about it that is illogical).
