24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

oh yeh if its a Honeywell pcb wire center, then I would definitely be suspecting that, surely they can find the fault with a multimeter.

is the house wiring correct polarity. is the wiring to the fused spur correct polarity.

drayton valves are well know to fail on the switches, creating a constant live to orange after satisfied something to do with a plastic arm breaking. but would not of thought new ones would fail so early, so only thing I can think of is a break down in one of the cables.

24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

your right, but what I think is there might be a fault in the cable or one of the cables that feeds to the boiler and pump, switch live is traceable on site in fault condition with a multimeter.

24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

might be a fault in the heating zone valve cable.

the boiler will have an integral frost setting in its software, normally reads of the temp sensor,it might be faulty..

could be faulty rad valve, or something has gone in rad partially blocking it.

    Magnetic filter fitted loose

I fitted a tf1 and it leaked, last one I ever fitted, only chose it because it fitted nice in the pipework. only now fit pro 2 or flomasta, never had a problem, fitted loads. more bulky but solid.

    Magnaclean Pro2 tips

yes turn boiler off. the old magnaclean valves, red ones, were prone to leaking, but the new ones I never had a problem. if its the new pro 2, isolate it, open the bleed screw, put a container underneath, undo the union underneath, drain out it out, retighten ,open cap, pour in inhibitor, re...

    Farty noise? Soil pipe?

the saying goes, he who smelt it, delt it. it could be air admittance valve, or a partial blockage.

Ideal Isar HE35. No display. Power in several wire blocks. Dead parrot!

there is a fuse in the pcb you can check that is not blown, its top left, in a black plastic holder. have you voltage and checked polarity. might be a dodgy neutral.

    Insulating a condensate pipe

its designed to be fitted on the flow pipe, it does not get super hot, and it only removes 1 to 2 litres of condensate an hour while boiler is on full , once it modulates down its hardly a liter an hour. fitting it on return it wont get warm enough to be affective. a lot cheaper than if you get...

    Insulating a condensate pipe

i don't have that luxury every time on installations. of course it is better internal, as long as you do it right, because you might not get the freeze problem, but a waste blockage problem.

    Insulating a condensate pipe

the condensure is siphonic. the boiler trap might be siphonic or one that just drips the condensate out. the condensure clips into the flow pipe, is heated up as it fills, once filled, about one litre ,then chucks it all out.

    Insulating a condensate pipe

lagging, increasing pipe size, a syphonic heated trap, are all advantage against freezing, but the condensure is the biggest plus.

    Insulating a condensate pipe

a wind chill speeds up the freezing process, it does not make it more cold. SO protecting it from wind chill stops it freezing faster than it would. to add, a trap that drips out condense rather than by syphonic action, with 21.5 condense outside with a wind chill will freeze faster, because...

    Insulating a condensate pipe

get a worcester condensure fitted , if you got room below boiler, and it should be 32 mm external pipe , what lagging does is protect the pipe from wind chill, its normally the wind chill coupled whith the - 5 and below spikes of cold, that freezes most condense pipes. condensate pipe should...
