    a 2 way switch can operate in any position... if your that fussy about it, take switch off and put upside down, or swap L1 and L2 at the side with just the 3 core

    some new cable would be a good idea. and make sure water hasnt travelled along the cable and into TV/sat box/DVD player etc. how did it get in to start with? if you can use water tight connectors, use selfamalgamating tape

    make the wires dead by disconnecting at the other end. you cannnot 'safely' tape up live wires

    yes, but connecting 2 6mm T&E to the cooker control might be a pain in the arse. go for a 2gang sized without switch to give you more space

    i just use my astra estate. plenty room. (its a car type, not van). for work, all my stuff fits in the boot. altho if i have a big job then i sometimes have to drop the seats

    but we dont know the exact situation, since OP didnt tell us, so better safe than sorry and say RCD... for all we know they could be wired with bell wire run along the top of the grass/path...

    wether they are plugged into a socket or wired direct thru an FCU doesnt change the chances of them havin a fault and giving someone a shock, or change the chances of someone puttins a spade thru the cable
